Welcome! Here's a little introduction. We're first and foremost a friendly and entertaining message board for discussing all matters to do with Doctor Who, the best show in the history of TV! We like to welcome as many new members as possible to join in with our discussions, but do ask for membership registration first. The result is somewhere you can join in with discussions on any aspect of the show, be it the new series, the classic series, the Big Finish audios, the spin-offs Torchwood & SJS, even those really nostalgic audiobooks of Target novels.

The other side to Planet Skaro are the forums we use for more wide-ranging and personal topics. In all respects, these are as significant and lively as our Doctor Who chat - and often far more interesting and sometimes particularly controversial! Discussion can be about topics as diverse as Kylie's new album, Facebook, the price of dairy products, The IT Crowd, and the latest blockbuster films , not to mention topical news issues in 'General', and risque innuendo in our members-only 'Temple of Secrets' forum! There's even a place to post pictures of anything that tickles your fancy, whether it's a really funny pic or you want to show off your own artistic bent!

But the unique thing about Planet Skaro is that it has evolved from a primarily Dr Who-based discussion board into a proper community in its own right. Our members regularly meet up off-line, and these (often pub-based) meets are usually open to new members as well. So it's a chance to make new friends off-line as well as on. Our annual November Meet takes place in London, and is regularly attended by over thirty forum members from all corners of the UK! Other more intimate meets involve smaller turn-outs. We even write, record and produce our very own Doctor Who audio stories, with cast and crew made up entirely of forum members.

But whether you want to simply pop in once a day to check what media bargains have been posted, vote in our series of Last Standing polls, share fan fiction, crack a joke or share your love of music, books, games, sports, whatever... Planet Skaro is all things to everyone!

Planet Skaro was founded on March 12th 2002 by our Chief Administrator, Anthony Williams, then just 14! Ant's still in charge of PS, with a number of permanent Admins and Mods to keep order. On November 23rd 2006, after four and half fab years, PS moved from its long-standing home on EZBoard to a new dedicated forum, giving us more control on how things work with less propensity for errors and logouts (well, we hoped so at the time, but things seem to have s). We have also grown to encompass this website, packed with sections of old forum stuff and brand new creative endeavours...

But the heart of PS will always be the message board, where friends new and old log-on every day to chat, debate or simply have a giggle. We hope you are tempted to join in and make yourself at home!
