Pre-Production
Richard Brinck-Johnson found the Planet Skaro website through the audio plays and soon became a huge fan. He had an idea for a Christmas story that he wrote up, expecting it to be put online as a text adventure. Si Hunt was so pleased at the idea that he decided to turn it into a special full-cast audio adventure.
And so in a very short time, Si contacted several people around the country to secure their involvement in the story!

Production
Recorded lines were collected remotely from each member of the main cast. They were quickly (but not hastily) put together by Si Hunt into the finished version! Although not ready for Christmas day, it was released on 30th December which gives a total time from inception of the audio to release of about 23 days.

ROB: It’s my house! And it’s reeeeeaaaaaally cold! What are we doing here Doctor?
DOCTOR: I’ve brought you home for Christmas Rob! Howards Way, Putney! And by the look of it, everyone is in the spirit of the season!
ROB: Blliiiimey! It’s… it’s….
DOCTOR: Yes, Rob. It’s Christmas Eve! And I believe we’re expected!

ROB: Anyway. You and Ben?! I mean… how?!
BEN: I don’t know Rob. The old gang moved on… and after you’d disappeared again after that business with the Celestial Whatsisface, I was left with no-one. I managed to get your old job at the shoe shop. “Enjoy your shoes” I’d say, just like you used to.
EMMA: I came in for something arched and sparkly.
BEN: And she found me!
ROB: But aren’t you…..?
EMMA: Well, that’s what I thought. He was on the telephone when I first came into the shop, trying to get tickets to the Steps Reunion.

GORDANE: I am Gordane, Lord of the Sparkle Tribe!
LINDA: Not Gordon from Thetford Forest?

- It was decided that the character 'Ben' who had previously appeared in Keepsake played by Dave Taylor should have a surname for his return in this story. Possible surnames included: Ben McSparkle, Ben Crystal, Ben Bassey-Minelli, Ben Dover, Ben Christmas, Ben Camp, Ben Suckling, Ben Daheer and Ben Streisand McCamp-Dion-Minelli.
