I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Castrovalva. While not an all-time favourite, I've always enjoyed how it feels so fresh and new. I love the leisurely pace of the first couple of episodes (although I can see how some regard it as dull) and totally agree with Si Hunt's comment about it having an aftermath sort of feeling about it; it would have worked just as well as an end-of-season story...it would have been a more successful experiment with such an idea than the Twin Dilemma was, a few years later. 7/10
Watched this Again last weekend.
The firsty dw5 story( Not the first created ) however what a great start. PD pulls of a transistion no less greater that from Hartnell to Trouhton. Just how can you go from Toms Doctor succesfully?
Probably the best start to a season in classic who
We're all very fond of Castrovalva. Parts one and two is Yay the TARDIS! and parts three and four is Yay Escher!

Absolutely - in fact, before Peter C was announced last year as Dr twelve, I was half-hoping they'd decided to give Peter Davison a second bash at it.
Hoorah. A fellow enthusiast

Indeed!
Mind you, I wouldn't want him to try and recreate the fifth - I'd be much more interested in him taking a different tack, given that the young chap is now, well, maybe not quite so young... :)
"Oh no, not this old face again!"
