Fabulousssssssssssssss
It'll be interesting to see how they'll be doing the missing episodes. 'Course, the nature of these things usually is, what we want they can't afford and what we get they won't have to pay much more than what they've spent already.
If they animate the missing episodes, I will be buying this pretty much on release! I think the last time I did that for was Planet of the Spiders.
I think we'd better start planning to set fire to whoever the Director General is this week then.;)
They should act it out with ice-lollies carved into the shapes of Ice Warriors and Leader Clent.
It is Leader Clent in The Ice Warriors, isn't it?
It's Leader Wall's Dalek Death Ray Lolly now...
Apparently Steve Roberts has said the DVD will contain the video recon of the missing episode from the video version. Epic fail!
Si.
It's a year of crushing disappointments.
It's almost like they can't be bothered, now that the range is nearing the end. :rolleyes
I expect they'll 're-release it in a couple of years with animated episodes!
Looking at the wording on the Doctor Who Newspage, it does say includes... so this could be the same kind of includes... as the 50 anniversary list seen elsewhere ;)
He says it will include the original reconstruction, but the way he worded it heavily implied that it would be included as an extra in addition to animation!
The Ice Warriors is the next time trailer on The Aztecs SE, but Steve said today on GB that it has dropped back in the schedule at the last minute so isn't actually out next after The Aztecs.
Hmmm. I'm not convinced, as why would they bother if there are animated episodes? They didn't include Carole-Ann Ford's video links on "The Reign of Terror"...
On the other hand, they're nothing if it not inconsistent so you never know. And the delay might suggest extra work on the animated episodes.
It would be very odd if, given the choice between an Ice Warriors story, A Cyberman story and a dull historical, the only story with two missing episodes they chose to animate was "Reign".
Si.
Apparently Carole Ann's links weren't included due to space issues on the disc... maybe The Ice Warriors is going to be a 2 discer?
Not that I'm all that fussed- it's not a big favourite of mine anyway.
I'm sure five minutes of an old woman rambling away in a big jumper would have tipped the capacity over the brink, so it's understandable.
They should try and animate some stories that are actually good one day. "The Crusade" wouldn't be the worst choice. How about "The Celestial Toymaker"? That's a very visual story so would benefit from it. Let's have some left-field choices!

Read all about it, Guv'nah.
In addition, he's just said this in answer to a question about the original reconstruction:
Thereby CONFIRMING it is only an extra, and not part of the main feature. :waveQuote:
We've left it entirely as it was originally. It's just a DVD extra, I can't see any reason for making that sort of change.
Thank gawd for that, guv'.
Sorry, got dragged in to McCow world for a second there.
It's tempting to break into his house at night to see if he lets anything slip while he's asleep.

Dirty boy! :tut
I'm stuck in it!
