So long as you weren't driving at the time !

Fortunately for myself and everyone else on the M40, I was driving!
Having a Jago and Litefoot day... quite enjoyed The Bloodless Soldier and The Bellova Devil isn't bad either if slightly more convoluted.
Will be continuing with The Spirit Trap later.
(Keep forgetting to download The Revenants as I never remember when I'm at home and have access to the code!)
Finished The Sea Devils, now joining Mo O'B for The Chase!
Si.
That would still be more fun than listening to The Pyralis Effect. :eekQuote:
Si will just have to set your trousers alight next time!
Well The Spirit Trap proved to be rather fun in the end so time for the final installment of Jago and Litefoot series one; The Similarity Engine
To be followed later by The Revenants
The Companion Chronicles: The Perpetual Bond. Excellent.
Currently listening my way through The Church and the Crown. Two episodes in and so far, so good :)
Or rather to be followed 2 weeks later... that said the latest DWM freebie is a very charming tale. William Russell is superb as always and the mid-story cliffhanger is great (quite an achievement to pull off a good surprise moment involving the First Doctor!) now onto Part Two... :)
I'm still on The Chase. It's feeling like we've been in this Chase for a million years. But don't worry! We've reached Mechanus! We've met Steve (me neither)! And the Doctor has just discovered fifteen hundred feet of electrical cable hanging around which could be useful in his escape attempt! The end is in earshot.
Si.
I take it you're doing the talking book version, Si? I remember that one being particularly entertaining, if long. :)
And what's wrong with long and entertaining...?;)
I've got to say, having just finished listening to The Cold Equations, that the first Doctor, Steven and Oliver are fast becoming a favourite TARDIS team. Two exemplary stories so far played to perfection by Peter Purves and Tom Allen. Absolutely excellent.
Just finished 'City of Spires' followed immediatly by 'Night's Dark Agents'. The Sixth Doctor/Jamie combination seems to be working well. And something very strange is happening to them. Now for 'The Wreck of the Titan'.
Having now listened to 'The Wreck of the Titan' I'd figured out where Old Sixey and Jamie were by the end of Episode 1 (it's obvious to anyone who has seen a certain Pat Troughton story). Still good though!
Next on my list was 'Helicon Prime' (Companion Chronicle), then 'Sympathy for the Devil' (Unbound) which is far better than I expected. Next up is 'Masters of War', then 'An Arm for an Arm'.
I've finished my long three day haul through "The Masters of Luxor". It's not without merit and I really quite enjoyed most of it, but with two guest cast, both humanoid, by God this would have been a slog on telly. And every bloody episode would exist, you can bet.
Today I've started "The Rings of Ikiria" in which case all the men of UNIT get their hands on a beautiful woman's ring, except Yates.
Si.
I have no idea what you mean...
Just finished "Protect and Survive" and at times it was brilliant - really atmospheric and really unsettling but utterly compelling.
However. There is a wrinkle in it that I can't smooth out. I just end up pushing it from one place to another.
It's ended up being this - if the Tardis brought Ace and Hex to the pocket dimension as part of the Doctor's rehabilitation of Peggy and Albert, that means Peggy and Albert must've passed both halves of his test. But that can't be right as they're clearly not rehabilitated. They were pretending to be human and could've passed part 1 (as we saw in the first episode) but then would've failed the prisoners dilemma. Which is why they wanted Ace and Hex to replace them so they could bypass the second part of the test. But in that case the Tardis wouldn't have come. It clearly only came for Ace and Hex after they'd passed the second stage.
As a punishment the pocket dimension was cruel but justified. As rehabilitation it is nonsensical and clearly didn't work as the prisoners left unreformed and seeking revenge.
Can I please make a polite request that in future any "spoilers" for audio releases especially the Big Finish's which quite a few of us are at least a year behind on are kept to threads specific to the plays in question.
Please feel free to start new threads for recent releases that aren't in the index (which I'm aware does need updating and I'll try and get round to soon!)
Thank you all for your cooperation. :)
Currently listening to the audiobook of Dark Horizons by JT Colgan read by Neve McIntosh. :)
Robophobia Part One :)
Doctor Who and the Auton Invasion - "wheezing groaning sound" klaxon on standby! :)
It features the very first wheezing groaning sound of them all!
Last minute klaxon for "reversing the polarity of the neutron flow..." :clap
Now halfway through Doctor Who and the Cave Monsters - another lovely reading from Carrie, I'm not deliberately doing these in order it's just worked out that way. :)
Halfway through The Mutant Phase - and really enjoying it!
Finally found out 'the truth' about Old Sixey and Jamie in The Legend of the Cybermen, which is excellent. The went on to The Rocket Men (will now have to buy Return of the Rocket Men when I get the chance), followed by Next Universal. Hello my Dalek!!:-D
Good old Next Universal! Watch out for Susan!
I have been Jago and Lightfoot-ing this morning with 1.3 The Spirit Trap. Nice, but possibly a little too close to The Unquiet Dead for comfort.
I did the first three episodes of "The Burning Prince" on the plane over here, but I haven't got round to finishing it off yet. I suspect it will take the nine hour flight home to get me to finish it.
Si.
CC:Resistance. Good stuff so far- very nicely read/ performed by Anneke Wills, even if the cliffhanger was a bit predictable. Liking the Secret Army vibes from this one very much though.
I've been doing Love and War on the train to and from work this week! Hurrah!
This week I've gone through Animal, The Juggernauts, Tales From The Vault and have just finished Voyage to Venus.
I did The Aztecs audio book at the weekend (and it was smashing!) and today I have unwrapped BF 120: The Magic Mousetrap... and am even giving it a listen! It's rather good so far.
It's funny, my purchasing of "The Magic Mousetrap" grounded me and Big Finish for a few years... then I got it back out, listened to it, found it wasn't too bad, and it kicked me off catching up again. The trilogies of plays immediately after it ("Paper Cuts", "Castle of Fear" etc.) are all excellent and well worth getting. Welcome back Si!
Si.
It was rather good I thought. Not really sure why I left it so long. There have certainly been worse BF stories than this one- I think it was just a case of enough is enough at that particular point!
Ah BF overdose - I've not had that ailment yet :-) Next up for me is Shadow of the Scourge
