from me. There's so much stigma associated with "meeting people from the internet" that this just makes me smile. It's good to hear some cheerful news about people who've met online having a realtionship that works so well.
I've done it. It didn't have quite such a happy ending as this story, but I understand where they're coming from. I think you can share a great deal in emails and messenger chats that perhaps you might find awkward to say when you're getting to know someone in the traditional way- it makes you kind of fearless I suppose, and it's easier to type something you're perhaps embarrassed about, or soemthign personal than to say it face to face.

So good on them! Well done- it's a lovely story.

I don't think you can class this as "love at first sight" really - they got to know each other over the internet first. Si is right about the stigma attached to net relationships but to me it's just as valid a way of meeting people as, say, down the pub for example.

Good for them I say!

Having said that, I think it might have been an idea to get to know each other a bit better first, but it does seem to be working out for them so what do I know.

It's remarkably similar to how we met really - although no commitments were made within 4 minutes of meeting one another. That's not the way I think - one day at a time is my philosophy.
