Default MACRA!!! How cool is that?!

Before this weekend, the number of people in the world who knew what Macra were must have been around a few thousand. The number of people who could actually tell you what happened in a Macra story, those people who had listened to the Macra Terror audio enough times to remember it, would have been around seven.

Now, eight MILLION people know and fear the Macra. When they see a crab on the beach, no longer will they point and laugh. Or at least if they do, they will laugh nervously.

Don't clam up - tell us what you think about the return of the Macra. Did it make you crabby? Did you nip off your sofa in excitement? Do you think the new Macra still cost the same as a mini?
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Well I want to know, having presumably avoided the "Macra" spoilers, how you're going to avoid the massive spoiler on the cover of next weeks Radio Times Steve? We're envisaging Si leading you into the supermarket with a blind fold on so you don't catch a glimpse!

I've already warned him not to go anywhere near any shops until Saturday. Or look at the copy I've bought that I might inadvertantly leave lying around the house....

PS- I love the Macra, even though they do not exist.

There were Macra spoilers? Did everyone else know about this then?

I didn't know anything about the Macra and I'm still squealing about it! Even if they don't exist!

Not everyone, but it was pretty much common knowledge in the 'Series 3: What We Know' thread.

The original one cost as much as a mini! How can you not be wowed by that fact?

I didn't know anything at all about it until I saw the episode. I'd heard there was some lost monster due back in the first few weeks and the clip in last week's trailer where Dr. Who is looking down through the hatch hinted that something was coming. I was shocked by the power and the fact that they were so obscure more than excited or anything and then dissapointed that they didn't do very much. It was a nice moment but it's not like they're one of the all time greats or anything.

I've been avoiding all the spoilers myself, so this case of crabs was a complete surprise to me, and I was over the moon. A definite "Oh my god!" moment, and now, kids up and down the country know that Macra do exist.

Which, frankly, is a bit weird.
