Proving that less is more, an actress with a no-nudity clause in all her film contracts has been voted the world's sexiest woman.

Sin City star Jessica Alba beat Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy to the crown. Californian Alba – 26 on Sunday – who also played the Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four, was voted No.1 by readers of FHM magazine.

Two British actresses not faring so well in the top-100 list are last year's No.1Keira Knightley, 22, who dropped down to No.12 and Sienna Miller, 25, who plummeted from 12th to 45th.

Footballer Wayne Rooney's fiance Coleen McLoughlin, 21, is another on the way down – in fact out of the top 100 altogether after finishing 45th last year. British glamour model Keeley Hazell, 20, was runner-up in the poll, ahead of 32-year-old Longoria.

Prince William's ex Kate Middleton, 25, proves she will have no trouble finding a new man after shooting up to 25th place from 94th in 2006.
