Why doesn't Russell televise Nick Briggs' Dalek Empire?
Well why not? Its open season for spin offs, the kids are still going wild for Daleks, and really want to see what kind of empire they were before the Time War, and I can't see how it wouldn't be an enormous success. The pacing is excellent, the characters are adorable, the stakes are huge, the stories full of humanistic themes and such. It'd go down wonderfully with feminists, roleplayers, Anime fans. It'd be a spin-off to out do its parent show.

Maybe it'd be a bit expensive?
I can't talk about the stories because I haven't heard them.

No, its a very intelligent, expansive and humanistic series about the human spirit in times of war. It does everything that Doctor Who does- take us into strange and dangerous realms, critically comment on our own society and culture, preaches a message of facing your fears, and above all demonstrates the power of narrative, but does it with consistency and a sense of consequences that Doctor Who lacked.
