You might decide when you watch it that it's so great you want to keep the original as a reminder of the special day when you first saw it.

Based on what i've seen of the spin-offs so far, somehow i think not.

After it selling out within the first day on all the online sites I tried to get it on, I've now bought the first issue of the new Buffy comic via ebay, and for a reasonable price too.
It looks really cool, and is written by Joss Whedon, so I'm expecting it to be really great, hopefully!

Somebody really wants The Eight Doctors...
-

8.50! I thought that was one of the common ones!
Vampire Science / Alien Bodies always seem to command high prices though.

I have a feeling that The Eight Doctors went through an awful lot of reprints so there should be plenty out there. The thing with the early EDAs is that in the main they're not particularly typical of how the range turned out, but many of them have been unavailable now for the best part of a decade.

The early ones were excellent I thought. VS / AB in particular. I got bored by about 11/12 novels in.

Bloody paypal! They're a bunch of crooks. Got an email from them today saying that the buyer or bank of a buyer of one of our items has reversed the payment. Is there no point at which paypal can't take money away from you? It seems any payments sent to you can be claimed back at any time even if you've paid them into a bank account.
Anyway the person has effectively got an item for nothing now. Maybe no-one should pay for anything on ebay. We should all just reverse the payments! grRRRRRRRRRRRR
Anyway I've emailed the person to find out what happened. I'm hoping it was just a mistake and that it can be resolved amicably.

Nope that is true.
Apparently what happens is that if you don't have enough to cover the payment reserval your paypal account goes into negative amounts and they suspend it. They've also been know to send bailiffs round to recover even silly amounts like a tenner and the bailiffs they use are particularly nasty.
So those people who pay money into their accounts before sending the items out...you're not safe!

Blimey! That sounds really bad! How did you find all this out?
-
30th Mar 2007, 2:48 PM #94
That sucks, it's the second time you've been really badly treated via paypal, it really isn't good.
I hope it's just a mistake, but well, I can't understand the type of person who does this without emailing first, unless it is because they're con artists.
I hate the way paypal protects the buyers and doesn't seem to give a toss about the sellers too, it really annoys."RIP Henchman No.24."

Wayne, we got an email from paypal saying that the buyer or bank had reversed the payment and that's all we know. Its no use phoning paypal either as they will just say that they have no idea whats happened because the bank did it.
So yes, paypal is great as a buyer but lousy if you're selling.
On the plus side, Jody tells me that the BACS system has gone down today so we're hoping thats what caused it.

I'd wait and see what the buyer has to say before blaming Paypal- it may equally be that they tried to use a bank account with no funds or that the credit card linked to their account expired. The BACS thing seems to have been fairly self-contained; certainly working for a bank, it wasn't as if we had messages coming out as to anything we needed to do or tell anybody. Of course it would happen at one of the busiest dates in our calendar- end of the month, the week before Easter- so the sheer volume of payments moving around won't have helped.

Bah, one of my ebay items has been removed for being too erotic. It's the french film Baise-Moi, which I picked up at a car boot sale for 25p. It is very graphic and contains real sex scenes, but it's a "proper" film rather than porn, and it just seems inconsistent with ebay's policies, because Michael Winterbottom's Nine Songs is on sale on the site, and that's far more graphic and explicit.
The thing is that it's a bit of a rubbish film, so I don't want it in my collection. And giving it to a charity shop seems somehow wrong..."RIP Henchman No.24."
