I guess I've always had a bit of nostalgia for it too as it was the first Bond movie I saw at the cinema. Having only seen by that stage the Connery movies on TV I quickly realised it had taken a new direction.....

Funnily enough, i watched about 10 minutes or so of 'Never Say Never Again' on one of the Freeview channels a couple of weeks ago. I've only seen it once all the way through, but i didn't think much to it. What was Connery doing returning to Bond at that age? He looks far too old in it!
Mind you, Kim Basinger looked alright.

NSNA is one that I've always felt disappointed by - it seems as Carol says in her Vervoid review like a cheap TV movie. He should have definitely left it at Diamonds as I thought overall it wasn't a bad finish. Yes he was too old I agree and I think Roger should have bowed out with TSWLM which I still think is one of the all time best. And yes you expect lots of eye candy in a Bond wouldn't be a Bond otherwise! Thank god the political correctness hasn't taken that away yet!

The irony is that for all the gags in NSNA about Sean Connery's Bond being a bit long in the tooth, Roger Moore, the then-current Bond, was/is 3 years older than him.

I see 'Carry On Emmanuelle' is on tomorrow/tonight.
It's supposed to be crap isn't it?

With a capital C, yes. It's far worse than Carry on England, and that's poor enough.

At least Emannuelle has some frontal nudity to make you persist with it - England is just a relentless hurricane of piss-poor comedy that even Kenneth Connor can't save.

    Meanwhile, I've been watching:

Is Benny Hill Still Funny? (pointless)
The Vicar of Dibley Xmas Specials (tired)
What The Pythons Did Next (pointless)
The Secret Life of Brian (fantastic)
'Allo 'Allo: Series 5 Volume 2 (DVD)

I've only seen Emanuelle once to date, but I'd say it's much better than England, which was the absolute nadir of the series. There's some good stuff in a scene where you've got four of the characters around a table swapping anecdotes.

I've never seen it, (or 'England') so i'll probably give it a try. Even if only for Pip's reasons.

We've been watching and enjoying immensely the Star Trek Animated Series. It's very underrated. The stories are very good and much better animated than i remember, even if the theme is slightly wrong.

I'm surprised I haven't seen them since the mid 70s and I suppose it seemed a poor substitute so I kind of dismissed them back then. Still not tempted to buy the DVDs...

Not seen them since i was a kid. I'd like to see them again just for the fun of it, But i'd probably only buy them if they were really, really cheap.

Just thinking of the theme tune & voiceovers makes it tempting though. I might amend my previous statement from 'really really cheap', to just: 'really cheap'.
Just had a quick look: RRP is 40. Cheapest on-line price is: 27 at 'Foxy', who i've never used. Cheapest one i've used is DVDCO.UK at 29.
It would have to be half price or under for me to buy i think.

Give it a few months, I'd say, it's only been out a month.

Does Shatner do his own voice, I wonder?

Yes Shatner does his own voice. All the original cast are back, except Walter Koenig. They couldn't afford them all, so they got rid of the expendible one!

    Hurrah!

Anything with Shatner's unique delivery is worth a hurrah!

They let him write an episode. It has giant Spocks in it.
