E-17 Reunited ("Nah ot a meen, innit!?")
Sublime piece of Car-Crash TV Gold on Channel 4 last night charting their comeback attempt last year. It had the lot: an annoying midget chav, a Fray Bentos lover, a punch in the face, some rough guy off the street and a bloke who was struggling to read a newspaper.
They ain't no Take That!
This Timesonline review sums it up:
E-17 Reunited, Channel 4
From the sublime to the mundane: E-17 Reunited told the bathetic story of how the former boy band tried to bring off a reunion last year but failed thanks to their own internal contradictions – or, to put it another way, because the composer Tony Mortimer hit frontman Brian Harvey in the face when he arrived late for a meeting.
Mortimer was the only one to have made real money despite the group’s 14 million record sales. Yet he was also the one most damaged by the break-up. For a period reclusive and anorexic, he now lives alone behind a high wall. Much happier seemed Terry Coldwell, working as a club DJ, and John Hendry, back in gainful employment as a roofer. Harvey, despite a suicide attempt after the split, seems content enough living in his nan’s house. At the end of this morose hour, the three went off to perform in a club in Colchester. Mortimer wandered around his vast garden consoling himself that, at least, he need never work again.
Didn't stick this in The Ratings War as that's already too full of Milky Tears' threads.Last edited by Milky Tears; 30th May 2007 at 1:47 PM.

We used to drive there for foam parties.
The joke is that, genuinely, that was where we went on the odd night we wanted to "go upmarket". You don't want to know about the Clacton Savoy where we used to go most weeks...
