    Default John Prescott has pneumonia

Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott is suffering from pneumonia and has been moved to a high dependency hospital unit, according to Sky News. (Meh to you BBC news) His condition has not deteriorated, they only want to monitor his condition more closely.

He has become a bit of a joke figure these last few years, but not even your worst enemy deserves that illness.

He recently celebrated his 69th birthday.

I'm not writing him off, but it doesn't look good does it?

I had no idea his condition was that serious - they don't seem to have made a big deal about it on the news.

Hope he gets well soon. Whatever I think of 'New Labour', I don't really mind Prescott, and he's a bit of a legend, if only for this:

    I didn't realise he was 69!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I didn't realise he was 69 either. Blimey. Though it's hard to actually say that he looks good for his age, or any age for that matter.

Pneumonia obviously can be very serious, but there are levels of how bad it is, and as the press aren't making too much of a big deal of it, I'm guessing (and hopefully this is the case) he's not got it too seriously.

I managed to get it in 2004 whilst suffering from Chicken Pox at the same time (which I know Paul won't forget for one quite funny reason!), and I just found myself feeling appalling, but sleeping most of the time. I was taken to Hospital in an ambulance in the end, but after being in for just under a week I was almost back to normal and released. So however I feel about Prescott, I hope it's the same for him too.

He did die a few years ago, didn't he (not Prescott, the other one)?
