Fantastic Four 2:Rise Of The Silver Surfer
Okay the first film was very average, although the extended cut is now in release, but the sequel certainly looks more promising with the inclusion of possibly Marvel's coolest hero the Silver Surfer, rumours of Galactus as well as the return of Doctor Doom.
Anyone else looking forward to yet another summer movie blockbuster?

I'll wait for it to come on Sky. I wasn't that keen (it's not bad just average) on the first one & I'm not wasting money & time on the second if it's similar.

The trailers for this film look pretty good. The film seems to be loosely based on The Galacticus trilogy, Fantastic Four comics from the mid sixties.
I loved the Silver Surfer, or Norrin Radd as he was originally known. I loved his angst as he was cast adrift by betraying Galacticus, forever homeless roaming the universe as an outcast.
The film certainly promises to be the summer blockbuster, I only hope it will be better than the first film which disappointed me.
If it succeeds, what next for The Fantastic Four, more Doc. Doom, Submariner maybe? he was one of their foes in the comic books before becoming a great ally, remember The Defenders?

I think it looks good!
I enjoyed the first film, though it seems like quite a few people didn't. I actually enjoyed it more than most of the other Marvel/comic films put out.

I really wanted to like the first film, but I'm afraid I thought it was awful, despite the presence of Jessica Alba in skin-tight lycra! I don't think I'll be bothering with this one.

Watch till the very end, you'll get it - the last line has me in stitches every time.
I love Don LaFontaine's voice.

Apparently the producers listened to feedback from the fans about what was wrong with the first film and have corrected a lot of it in the second.

Well I've just seen this and while its far from perfect it is ultimately enjoyable. If you go expecting an angst ridden movie along the lines of Spiderman you'll be disappointed but as a family superhero movie you can't go far wrong. There isn't that much of a plot and the depiction of Galactus will annoy purists but apart from that, theres little fault to be found and plenty to enjoy...

It's only an hour and a half long as well. The length Hollywood films are getting these days I'll feel ripped off if I go and see this!
