Don't worry, the material was the priority. I bet you were cursing at your family for visiting (in a nice way I mean!) right when you were recording.

They turned up half way through a scene, would you believe! I think you might hear the telephone ringing in one of the takes we got too!

Production work has started on the initial scenes, recorded last weekend. Sounding great so far! Also some cameo work has been done, although still lots to do! It's great to be doing it again!

Don't forget that a month yesterday, July 28th 2007, is main recording day! Also the website will be unveiled shortly!

It's just lovely to be doing it again to be honest! And Scene 2 seems to me rather special and exciting so I just had to get stuck in. I even need to get the microphone out tonight and... well, it'd be telling if I said who I was going to "be" again!

    I am suitably fearful.

I opened up a file at random last night and got someone pretending to be Yoko Ono. I dread to think what else I'll find on there!

Scene 2 huh? That's rather good, although I'm very fond of scenes 7 and 34 myself!

The mini-site is now open! We've added the first news update from Mr Hunt, an article on writing the script from Mr Hart, and a guide to the characters you'll come to know and love in a few month's time... so go peek.

Don't worry, I don't think it gets any stranger than that.

Well, actually I don't think it could possibly get any stranger than that!

Cheers for pointing it out Si, I've fixed it.

I've just chosen a nice little digital voice recorder & external mic, so I can easily interview the PS thesps on the big recording day in a few weeks time... should be fun!

Production on the story is going well! I'm working my way through the material created by Dave, Si and Steve and have completed 3 or 4 scenes so far, as well as doing clean-up and preparation on the scenes recorded which need inputs from missing cast members to finish off. I'm being careful to ensure the PC volume is re-set to 'mid levels' before I start any work to hopefully improve sound levels this time.

I've just finished preparing a 'suite' of sound for the 'Attack Through Time' moments. I've used a haunting instrumental loop, and then just chucked in all the voices I could find to create the effect of time breaking through from all the centuries. There's nothing daft in there (because these are quite serious moments) but I've certainly mined all sorts of bizarre speech samples and just hurled everything including the kitchen sink in! Hopefully the finished effect will be akin to poor Nick being swamped by voices from history! You might recognise a few...

Yesterday I drew up a recording schedule and the good news is, it looks quite a lot more 'relaxed' than usual. There's a smaller main cast this time, the story is a little shorter than "Soap" anyway, plus add in the aprox. ten scenes that will be finished before we start, and it shouldn't be too hectic this time! There are around 35 scenes to record, a third of which (unusually) are solo scenes for either Paul or Andrew. There are 7 scenes which all the main cast have together, and most of the remainder are 'pairings' between certain performers.

Si isn't going to be bothered a lot however, as most of his scenes have already been recorded! He'll be able to watch on smugly as the rest of you struggle through your lines knowing his are all in the can!

    Excellent work Si!

I'm looking forward to not doing much on 28th! If Pip would like me to do some interviewing since I'm not doing much on the day, I'd more than happy.

Of course, I will be on standby to re-record any lines that I got wrong the first time round. :embarassed

You need to get a recording of her new advert where she's advertsising some pension/ saving scheme for older people by talking about the 60s and stuff, Si.

Sure! Your voice is much more radio-friendly than my Manc drawl.

If you want to be thinking about some interview questions in the next fortnight, that'd be good - I don't think we'll be as funny as P-Bal was, but hopefully as entertaining!

Two new names to add to the cast in cameo roles: top thesp Wayne Jefferies will be playing Scarface Jake the Inn Keeper, and another top draw, Mr Dave Lewis, will be reprising his role as Jerry Diamond from "Soap of Fatal Death". Welcome to the cast!
