    Our thoughts:

    - Whoop! She's on DVD! Hurrah!
    - But one episode (if that's all there is) is very, very stingy! We expect extras
    - The series surely will now start in September

I guess we'll have to open a Sarah Jane Adventures forum soon - where's JSB?!

If that's all that is on that DVD, one episode, then I'll be waiting for it to drop below 5.00 before I buy it. I have it on video somewhere.

It's the sort of thing we'd put on at one of our do's, so I suspect Paul will see it before too long.

9.99 for a one hour special isn't the worst value in the world, surely?

I hope we get a garish and iconic cover.

That's no way to talk to Pip, Si. If he doesn't like the DVD cover, he's entitled to his opinion...

I find myself strangely looking forward more to Terrance Dicks's novelisation of it than the DVD release.

We've just watched the "episode" and will be fingering the extras later.

The menus are nice and have the CGI attic room from the official website.

This is now down to £6.89 at Sendit - and getting tempting (I already have it recorded off air)!

What is the word on the extras, anyone?

    • Trailers (for "Invasion of the Bane" and the series three Doctor Who boxset)
    • Character Profiles (Sarah Jane, Luke, Maria and Kelsey)
    • Alien Profiles (Mrs. Wormwood, the Bane Mother and the Star Poet)
    • Sarah Jane's Investigative Tools (info on the sonic lipstick, sonic watch and Nissan Figaro car)
    • Sarah Jane's Adventures (a look back at Sarah's 34 year history, with classic series clips)
    • Web Interview (BBC Norfolk's interview with Lis Sladen from 2006)
    • Blue Peter Feature (5m 14s)
    • Behind the scenes photo gallery

So, not bad, but the first few are text-only.

You might want to know that the first two stories from the series are due out 18th March - "Revenge Of The Slitheen/Eye Of The Gorgon".

Careful now, don't spoil us with too much! The disc might explode if they put more than two adventures on it.

So presumably one of the DVD releases is just going to be one story. I hope they fill it out with something. Perhaps the two audiobooks, with stills of Sarah-Jane. That'd be a good rip-off.

We're seriously considering waiting for the box set, if there is going to be one.

You can't wait to get your hands on the Old Bat's Box and that's a fact. Etc.

I think the box sets have been the way to go with all the new series stuff. The individual releases have taken 'Vanilla' to the extreme. There's also a good long wait until the box sets are released, so there's time for the episodes to become a bit less familiar.
