My closest friends were fine about me being sober, but the ones who love you the most and know you the best are the ones who find it hardest to cope with you falling in love.

"Some production staff working with Coogan are known to have objected to his "method" performance of Alan Partridge - maintaining the thoroughly unpleasant character from makeup to final call. Curiously, "Alan" enjoyed a good working relationship was with Anglia TV staff in Norwich, who assured Coogan (out-of-character) that Alan was far less problematic to work with than Robert Kilroy-Silk."

"We shot the verse footage on the stage at The Leadmill in the afternoon & the chorus footage came from a concert we played there that same evening. Unfortunately, the stuff we had done during the day was badly exposed & unusable on its own so we had to shoot some extra stuff of me lip-synching the vocal to mix over the top. It still looked crap so I shoved an effect over the whole thing, which helped a bit. I was coming towards the end of my studies at St Martin's & so I had to edit this at the same time as my graduation film. This involved the extreme step of hiding in a stock cupboard in the college so that we could edit overnight after the caretaker had locked up. It was during one of these sessions that my fellow editor, Martin Wallace, had to "go to the toilet" in a carrier bag as a trip to the toilets would have involved setting off the burglar alarm."

Vodka is a very deceptive drink, because you drink it and you say "Why are we drinking this? This is nothing, it has no smell, no taste! Why are we- W-what are we doing on a traffic island?"

"...at this point she told me her name was Kylie. The next thing I knew her hands had gone down and she had undone my fly, got the old fella out, and dropped to her knees. I thought it was pretty amazing for a sixteen year old. She was fantastic and knew exactly what she was doing. I just shut my eyes and let her get on with it."

Barry Norman, while discussing Kate Beckinsale's film career in the Radio Times, 8-14 December 2007:

"I would also ask what prompted her to appear in Click with Adam Sandler except that I haven't seen it, having decided a long time ago that life was too short to watch Adam Sandler movies."

"Do you have a girlfriend at the moment?"
"You live with your friend don't you? Does he have a girlfriend?"
"When are you going home then?"

    Bless.
