Default Who Would You Like As The New Companion?

We're getting a new companion for all 13 of next years episodes, to be revealed very soon. But who would you like to see join the TARDIS, both in terms of a character (boy/girl/alien/robot dog?) and possible actors/actresses to play him/her/it?

The words "Sally" and "Sparrow" are banned from responses!!

I wouldn't say no to Emma Pierson joining the TARDIS crew... but I think it could possibly be a bloke next.

I'm probably alone in this, but I would like a male companion. A strong, capable young man who isn't in love with the doctor, but wants to share the adventure. I'd probably make him in his mid 20s, and probably a norhterner, so that I could cast Neil Grainger from Crossroads version 2 to play him.

I suspect we'll get another female companion thoughm so that there will be a focus on Martha's jealousy when she returns. *sigh*

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Given the Mini-Doctor by The Mill , I think the time and technology is right for us to finally have the talking cabbage so beloved of Uncle Tommy B.
The twist is that its slightly psychic too and messes with Martha's head .

It would seem slightly odd, and a little pervy, to have the Doctor with two women, so I agree with Si in favouring a male companion next. It would be nice to return to the Doctor/Steven/Vicki or Dodo dynamic. Not to mention the fact that lovers of the male form are overdue some regular cast totty!

Well I'd like to see *----- ------- in the role but if not then perhaps a Young chap or older Lady...so long as neither has a crush on the Doctor this time. It's been done to death already! Enough, move on!

It would be interesting if Andrew Hayden-Smith returned playing the character he played before but the version from this universe. That'd get the boy-lovers wet.

*is there a function on here preventing me from saying ----- -------?

Sally Sparrow!!!!!!!!! (I laugh in the face of such rules!)

or someone older, in the mould of Evelyn Smythe!

No way! That'd lift the programme to heightened levels of twee-ness!

Lets get Sarah Jane Smith back. Stuff her series.

Somebody who was a teen pop sensation, but has since moved on... our first male companion... has to be Aaron Carter.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Fortunately, there's no chance* of it being Sally Sparrow as RTD has to have the credit for inventing all the companions.

Well based on the Fendahl theory, we can surely have a reasonable guess at the companion's name, if not the actor playing him/her. Speaking for myself, I'd like to see Claire Goose in the part of Leakey Ransome.

I wouldn't mind Michelle Ryan too, but as she's off doing The Bionic Woman in the US it's unlikely to happen any time soon.

It's what we've all been waiting for.

WHEN news broke that Billie Piper was leaving Doctor Who, we had to learn to love replacement sidekick Freema Agyeman - but now she's off for a break, we've got to get used to someone else!

Here are Paddy Power's odds on who might replace (or join) Freema to star as the next Doctor Who assistant.

David Tennant's character is rumoured to have TWO assistants in the new series.

So who will star as the Doc's Assistant?

    8/1 Loo Brealey (Casualty)
8/1 Rose Byrne (28 Weeks Later)
    9/1 Jennifer Ellison
    10/1 Nikki Sanderson
    10/1 Emma Pierson
    10/1 Carey Mulligan
    12/1 Tina O'Brien
    12/1 Rachael Stirling
    12/1 Samia Smith
    14/1 Michelle Ryan
    14/1 Jodie Albert
    14/1 Charlie Brookes
    14/1 Keely Hawes
    16/1 Lisa Hogg
    16/1 Rachel Stevens
    16/1 Katherine Heath
    20/1 Anna Friel
    20/1 Olivia Lee
    20/1 Rebecca Clarke
    20/1 Eve Myles
    20/1 Kelley MacDonald
    25/1 Amy Nuttall
    40/1 Hannah Waterman
    40/1 Sienna Miller
    50/1 Kerry Katona
    66/1 Samantha Mumba
    66/1 Charlotte Church
    250/1 Coleen McLoughlin (Dr ROO!)
    250/1 Katie Price (aka Jordan)
At least eight decent actresses on that list and half a dozen fat bapped slebs.

I didn't think much of her acting "performance" in that DVD I watched last year!
