The Vervoid Thread
Sooner or later we're going to need this thread to discuss updates - is your PC still defunct, Lissa?
-

It's still elsewhere - it went in for repair on Monday and they haven't called yet. I can't do anything useful on this Mac so we're still wherever we were last weekend.
On the plus side (maybe), I did upload chapter four of Flash Gordon before it all went pears up.Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

Is it best for us to avoid sending you stuff in the short term, Lissa, so as to avoid clogging up your inbox? Though I'm afraid I've been patchy with my own submissions of late, even moreso now that I have less time on my hands!

On the contrary - the more stuff I have, the easier it will be to get the site up and running again. If all goes to plan I'll be doing daily updates in December while a currently unwritten serial meanders along so having lots of other stuff to run alongside it would be an enormous boon (and, as Stephen Fry would say, we're always on the lookout for enormous boons).

I'll let Si know. He's really enjoying writing about The Web at the moment!
I've written a 2,000 word synopsis of Tides of Time. That was clearly a mistake! I'll cut it down to a readable amountPity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

The Tides of Time is awesome, although when it originally came out our newsagents bizarrely stopped stocking DWM after issue 61. It was years before I actually read the whole thing, rather than just the first and last instalments.

The first DWM I ever saw was 65 if I remember aright (Mind of Evil archive) so clearly there was this big epic story going on of which I only caught the tail end.
And seeing as one of my goals going forward is to be writing 5000 words a week (not all for Lissa, you'll all be pleased to know!) there should be one or two extras going in there as well.

Oh I really, really must finish off writing about The Web. Soon! Servalan's on her way- I need that boost!
Si xx
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

'Fraid you won't be seeing any articles from my goodly self for a while; my laptop recently contracted a virus that corrupted the harddrive. All files and documents inaccessible and/or corrupted (nothing the chaps at the repair place can do about it, a 60 professional opinion there) so I'm going to have to reinstall everything, wiping the harddrive. I've lost all my scripts, sketches, articles, photos, movies and a fair bit more besides, and that includes all my Vervoid stuff. Ho hum.
It also wiped a coursework essay I was on the verge of finishing, so spent most of yesterday retyping it...Last edited by The Secretive Bus; 28th Nov 2006 at 2:15 PM.

Oh no Dave - what an absolute nightmare! I found it frustrating when I deleted one of my reviews, I can't imagine what it would be like to lose the lot So we're going to have to wait ages for more Gerry Anderson action?
That's another person losing all their data - I think I might do a big back-up tonight.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I'd written up most of the Thunderbirds episode 3 article, and the next D Price one, but, yeah, won't be able to do any articles for a while. Before it was just time constraints so it's irritating that, now that the semester's finished and I've got loads of spare time until I go home, I can't do any articles (as I can't even watch DVDs on the laptop until I reinstall everything).

I can't remember what I've sent you now Lissa, but I think it's more or less "one of everything", and two "Torchwood"'s of course.

I hope Lissa gets the might Verve back up and running soon. A December without Brenty-Four doesn't bear thinking about.

It came dangerously close to cancellation but some things never go away. In a (hopefully temporary) low-tech format strangely befitting its star we have chapter one of this year's tale. I would've posted it directly on PS but the language filter might object to the odd bit or piece.

It wouldn't be the second day of December without chapter two of what is already being described as 'a serial that has peaked too early'.
