So was he ever officially asked to be in The Dark Dimension or was that just pie in the sky at the time? It sounds like he turned down Sharaz Jek because he was busy rather than because it was a terrible idea or anything.

    Bowie's rubbished the claims:

David Bowie has denied reports he is to star in BBC show Doctor Who, rubbishing the claims as "absolute tish and tosh".

Tabloid newspaper The Sun reported that the 60-year-old singer was set to play an evil alien abductor in a two-part special planned for next year. A statement on Bowie's website says the show's producers previously approached him about a cameo role in the series in the Eighties, but he declined.

Bowie played an alien in the 1976 film, The Man Who Fell to Earth. According to the newspaper, Bowie had agreed to play an alien who kidnaps crime author Agatha Christie - who in real life mysteriously disappeared for 11 days in 1926.

A spokeswoman for the BBC One show also denied the story.

I like the idea of the reintroduction of Davros, as long as its done well, the new and improved Daleks need a bit of a kick after Manhattan/Evolution, and I think Ben Kingsley would be stunning in the role!

well I have no doubts a reintroduction of Davros would be handled with great care and I reckon the best person to do it would be Steven Moffet.

I spoke to Terry Molloy in Swansea a few weeks ago, and asked him about the Bendy Gandhi rumour. He wet himself laughing, saying it was utter nonsense.

So does this mean David Tennant will be getting inside Kylie Minogue at the end of the story?

    No Doctor Pegg for Simon

SIMON Pegg has ruled out playing the next Doctor Who – he just wants to watch it. The Hot Fuzz star, 37, who played the Editor in a 2005 episode, said: “I’m too much of a fan to actually play the Doctor. “I think my head would explode.”

Not that it stopped Colin taking the role on, but I think even today's youngsters might wonder why the Doctor's looking like one of his recent enemies. Not, I suspect, that he's likely to have been asked, knowing the Sun.

I think it might be true.

I wonder if we can make up a plausible story & report it on O.G/Digital Spy to see if it makes it in to the papers?

Lissa would be good at this sort of thing.
