    Freema's back...

Posted by Face the Music (on OG):

"Just got back from watching a bit of filming at Margam Castle. Sorry if my descriptions of the filming i saw is not very good, i am sure someone else who was at the filming will be more detailed!

No sign of any Sontarans, but did see David, Freema and Catherine Tate filming at the front of Margam Castle with plenty of dry ice around as either something seemed to be landing in front of them or something looked like it was about to explode. Catherine and Freema then left but filming carried on around the back of the castle with David and a military guy inside a stationary jeep (i assume it will look like the vehicle was moving on screen). The modern vehicles around seemingly being set for more filming later (actually one of the crew did tell me they were filming on the path leading to the castle later), suggests that this is a modern day story. My brother did take quite a few photos of filming, but as he is not here at the moment, i will try to get them put on here later.(I did see a "Totally Doctor Who" sign being taken into the castle as well, so i assume that show will be returning and they had a film crew here as well). Not sure who the director was ( i am postitive someone will fill that bit of info in!, did not spot Phil Collinson but designer Edward Thomas was on hand as was The Mills Dave Houghton, who was forever measuring vehicles and props and taking photographs of the action.

The other thing i think i need mention, going by the way this thread has been heading in recent posts, was David Tennants attitude to the small group of us (including quite a few children)watching the filming. I have to say he was absolutely wonderful to all of us there! While filming the jeep scenes, he was constantly smiling and waving to those watching, shouted "Hi!" to a child who called his name while he passed, and then to top it off, came over to all of us, had his photograph taken with all the children and adults present(myself included!), signed many autographs ( even after being called back for more filming), and seemed very happy and pleasant throughout, and i am sure made the day for all the children there(and one or two of us grown-ups as well!.) Therefore, i am positive that those who were not happy with David yesterday must have caught him on a bad day, as he could not have been more generous with his time for everyone today."

"Thanks for all your kind words about the photographs( to be honest, i did not think they were all that intresting, i was hoping to get a shot of a Sontaran!), i believe they are filming in Margam Park again today, sadly i will not be able to go along, but i am sure if the crew and David Tennant were as kind as they were yesterday, anyone who goes along may get a good view of filming and some better photos! I was very surprised at how close they allowed us to get to the filming, especially the Land Rover scene being shot around the back of the house, where the action was happening a few steps in front of us!

The Daily Star news(?!)paper today, as well as mentioning an actress from Holby City (cannot remember her name sorry)joining the first episode of the new series, also report of a story for the upcoming series involving the doctor joining a "Most Haunted" investigation in a old haunted house. Just wondered if they are speaking of the story currently filming as Margam House is supposed to be haunted and an episode of the "Most Haunted" series was filmed there the other year."

"Now, I couldn't get a very good photo of this because I couldn't get close enough, the difference in lighting between inside and outside was tricky, and there were various obstructions. So I might be way off the mark and speculating wildly, but this looked to me like some sort of frieze depicting a space scene. They look like fellows in big helmets riding some sort of vehicle with a jet of flame, with the little one bottom right in a space suit. Top right looks a like a flag with a Sontaran on it. Alternatively, it's a poster that's been up in the house for umpteen years and I'm being a fool!

    Source: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/wenn/200710...c60bd6d_1.html

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue will play the Tardis in the forthcoming Doctor Who Christmas special.

The 39-year-old singer will appear as waitress Astrid Perth in the hit BBC show, a character linked to the Doctor's time machine.

Astrid is an anagram of Tardis and the character's surname means 'part' in Welsh - the name translates as 'part Tardis'.

A source tells The Sun, "Viewers have often been told the Tardis is a living organism. But mystery has always surrounded what it is and what gives it its powers.

"The elements we know about Kylie's appearance all point towards her being the Tardis."

It reminds me of "The Invasion of Time".

    They're comical, rather than menacing.

    We're dooooooooooooooooomed!

I'm reserving judgement, but personally I prefer the mask colour they used for Sontaran Experiment. I hope they have one of them trip over a deckchair.

I seem to be in a minority then, as I rather like it!

Vast improvement on 2 Docs, and I think better than IOT too. Linx still reigns supreme as the best design though.

definitely my first impression - i'm definitely a little dissa[pointed as I was hoping for a look nearer to the original in the Time Warrior.

That pic looks like Martha and Doctor Who have been pasted in from another photo shoot.

The Sontaran isn't great. The sticky out ears are a bit daft.

Adrian Chiles says "FFS! It's me!"

BBC deny new monster based on MOTD's Adrian Chiles

The Sontaran is called Commander Stoor. DWM refer to Chris Ryan's character as General Staal.

I think it looks pretty good, and it seems like they've gone back to basics, as it's not too dissimilar from the Linx look.

Oh, and nice to see the first shot of Martha and Donna together.
