X-Fandom: the Search for the new leading light of Doctor Who fandom
*with tongue firmly in cheek*
With Shaun Lyon resigning as the head of Outpost Gallifrey, we Doctor Who fans are now left without a Leading Light in Fandom.
But who should suceed him? Who should be fandom's new Leading Light? What qulaities should this fan have? And why shouldn't you all vote for me?
Make your nominations here!

Is this the same as the last time he resigned and announced the end of the site, or is this a different thing?

Same thing, different month! It seems potentially more lasting this time though.

I nominate Transvamp to be the new producer - no doubt he'll sack all the cast and crew, move the production centre to somewhere in the Home Counties and exhume the corpse of Jon Pertwee to take over as the Doctor. To explain why the time paradoxes, inconsistencies, and the horrid, raddled appearance of the decaying skeleton are better than that rubbish starring David Tennant, Transvamp produces a nine hundred page programme synopsis that is so dull that the BBC would rather commision the programme than finish reading it.

Speaking of DWAS, I have very little memory of when or why I did it but I seem to have rejoined. It's rubbish. It used to have a decent A4 magazine but this has become a tatty little A5 fanzine. It is quite literally evolution in reverse. So no one involved in that once adequate organisation can lay claim to be a leading light. Not unless fandom wants to shrink to half its current size.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

I wonder if there's room for a new DWAS - a kind of Unofficial Doctor Who Fan Club. An A4 fanzine with 'interesting' and 'humorous' articles shouldn't be too hard to produce, plus a badge and a branded set of underwear.

He's no good though, as he doesn't accept the new series. Our new Leading Light needs to love ALL of Doctor Who!

Given that the Vervoid has lots of good Who stuff in it now, could we have Lissa as an invisible leading light? She could not appear in newspapers and on TV.
