It would be fantastic it it where true, but I have learned to be skeptical about such things!
One Day, I shall come back, Yes, I shall come back,
Until them, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties, Just go forward in all your beliefs,
and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine!

The DWO team, have really stuck their necks out for this and are staking their reputation on it for that you can only but respect them for taking this risk knowing the huge back lash they face if it turns out to be a hoax

I can't say I respect them - on the contrary, I wish they'd never reported it as they temporarily raised my hopes the other day. I'd rather not have known about it in the first place.

Why can't they wait till it's found and then report that? False hope sucks.

On various other forums, the webmaster of DWO keeps insisting that if they hadn't reported it and it had turned out to be true, then they would have gotten many many angry e-mails from readers. The logic of this argument utterly baffles me - how would anybody know you'd had an inkling of it unless you told them? And surely those who thought about it at all if you did tell them would respect you more for awaiting confirmation?

I'd rather remain blissfully unaware (and avoid the disappointment of several hoaxes) until the BBC announced an episode had been recovered.

But to be fair Seb has said it's unconfirmed, and a rumour, but one which he has a firm belief in. He's a good guy and wouldn't make this stuff up just for the fun or publicity.

Hello John.
Yes, I will have to check, but I believe that the transfer has now been done.
I'll check with WMR next time I'm in the office. I've been away filming, hence not chasing this up and only just hearing about that 'Web of Fear' nonsense.
Regards,
Paul

Ah, the mythical world of private collectors.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

There's nothing mythical about my privates!

Nothing private about them either.

But I'm assured that although they were presumed lost in the '60's, they have actually passed through many hands since then.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Has this been proved a hoax yet? Or is it just going to go away & nothing will be known either way?

The trouble is that sometimes there can be no official denial of a rumour, as there is nothing that can be investigated. What we are going from here is a report on a website that a source claims that episodes of Web have been returned. There is no trail to investigate as DWO are protecting their source's details, and the source has not made themselves know to anyone else.
I could give you a list as long as my arm, written in 8 pt text, of rumours that have never been officially debunked due to the sparse nature of information relating to the rumour.
Really, I do hope this is one of those rare beasts; a rumour with basis in truth. But I fear it won't be.
