Wishful thinking, considering the Time-Flight/Arc set had an RRP of £29.99 for eight episodes. This set contains seventeen... but perhaps the discounted online price might be around the £25 mark, in which case I'd be happy with that.

Sorry, yes I was meaning more a 'you can easily pick it up online' price rather than an RRP. I don't think more than about 5% of our DVDs have come from real shops, and even then they've only been cheapy-cheapy ones (like True Grit for a fiver).

I suppose the real question now is... what will the boxset be called? The Silurian and Sea Devil Set? Or The Eocenes Collection? Or the politically-correct Earth Reptiles Collection?

    How about Newt Beginnings?

Okay, so they're not newts, but it made me laugh for a half-second.

    Badumtish!

Actually, I notice the latest DWM seems to squash the 'rumour' that the "Return of the Master" title of this year's January box was changed because of the BBC Wales team. According to the interview with the 2|E guys, they changed it, because they weren't sure the 'casual' buyer would know who the Master was!

It's the only way they could get me to buy 2 Pertwee stories, by putting them with a superior 80's story.

I suspect 'Warriors' will be a "vanilla" release......

Just saw this quote from Steve Robrts talking about the restoration of The Silurians....
Episode one looks AMAZING. I've blind-tested it with people at work and they hadn't a clue that it wasn't an original videotape.

Towards the middle of the story the colour source isn't quite as good, but it picks up again towards the end.

well when I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, they had KTT listed as a limited edition.

As for the Sea Devil/ Silurian set, well that'll be nice won't it? It'll be interesting to see how they go with recolourising The Silurians. The results could be great!

certainly will if they have made a good job of it then hopefuly we should get a few more pertwee releases where the picture quality was poor.

I'd like to bet O.G already has pages of people moaning about this one because they are not consecutive stories personaly I couldn't care less as I don't keep them in the boxes any way.

Well if you think about it that's kind of gone out the window with the KTT really, rather than with "The Lizard Creatures Collection" - for the first time you can't display the spines AND keep the box on the shelf. So given you have to take them out the box to display them with the others, it doesn't really matter if they are consecutive or not.

I hope "The Sea Devils" comes with a free plate of June Murphy's sandwiches.

They could probably do some new CGI on "Warriors" to jazz up the lacklusture gun effects and all that BBC Micro stuff.

The "Earth Reptiles" are the sort of creature the new series could bring back.

I won't be keeping mine in the box, & i'll be putting 'Warriors' on eBay.

I really quite like those comparison images. Any chance of a documentary on the image clean up in the latest Silurian set?

You should add 'squee' to the list of censored words then.

In 2008, I'm hoping we'll get Terror Of The Zygons, Snakedance & Invasion Of The Dinosaurs......as I can't back them up to dvd because of the Macrovision protection!
