watched the final 2 episodes of Inferno, this morning it's one of my favourite stories of the old series but at 7 episodes it is a little long.

I woke up a 6.00am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I watched The Romans. It's probably gone up a little bit more in my estimation.

Picked up the Curse Of Fenric DVD cheap yesterday and have so far watched the standard story only.

I still found it quite difficult to understand what was going on, and I still don't see what the fuss is about with this story (this may have something to do with my confusion over it). Granted, it has some great moments and has a good 'feel' to it - a vast inprovement over the revious season and the awful Battlefield - but I'd forgotten just how limited Sylv is and I think this also let the story down for me.

The extras look interesting though, so I'm looking forwrad to watching the rest of the disc(s) and listening to the commentary.

There's a few things that don't make sense that you kind of have to overlook, i reckon.
It's a lot more enjoyable than 'Ghostlight' though! (IMO)

When I rewatched Curse last year it gave me a bit more faith in Sylvester, I disliked him a fair bit in the eighties, but here I thought he played The Doctor well, and it was just the standard of the scripts that let him down.

Despite suffering from some dodgy acting (especially when the two girls are messing around in the sea), I like it a lot. And anything with Nicholas Parsons in it can't be all bad.

Ace is still rubbish though. Stop calling the Doctor "Professor" you dumb cow!

I suppose it's all a matter of taste, but I can never quite see how anyone could not like Fenric. I agree that the first episode is all over the place, in terms of having the Doctor & Ace move from location to location for no real reason, but certainly by the time we're into episode two and beyond I always find that the whole atmosphere and thrust of the plot sweeps me along. And although there are some sloppy moments (Ace picking up the flask never really works for me) I don't think there are any real plot holes are there?

Along with Remembrance, Curse of Fenric is a story that shows what McCoy and Doctor Who itself was still capable of when they got a decent writer in. Both stand up quite well to repeat viewings and can hold their own against anything else made in the eighties.

That was amazing at the time! Such idiosyncrasy!

I love Remeberance, but I go on and off Fenric. Most times I love it, but sometimes when I watch it it's just over-wrought bobbins. Depends what mood I'm in!

It was the Final End for the Daleks tonight, so I won't be seeing them again in a hurry...

I'll have to make do with Cybermen, Ice Warriors and Yeti instead!

Wayne will note loads of "Move!" Dalek dialogue when he comes to do Evil shortly - it's in most episodes!

4 seasons down for me now, 22 to go!

Watched 'The Hand Of Fear' this morning - this really has become one of my favourites over the years, I must say. An underrated classic if ever there was one, I wonder if it hadn't have been in the same season as 'The Deadly Assassin', 'The Robots Of Death' and 'The Talons Of Weng-Chiang' would it now be more highly regarded?

I watched a couple of the extras, too - Sladen's looking good in the 'Swap Shop' clip, but these recordings of old Saturday morning kids' shows often make for painful viewing! I've just got the main documentary to watch now.

The thing I love most about the Hand of Fear is the doom-laden, isolated feel to the production.

I forgot to mention that I've always thought Knickerless Parsons was excellent in COF.

We did Remembrance of the Daleks this weekend and it rocked our socks like Dr Fox.

I watched the first two episodes of Delta and the Bannermen over the weekend. What a fun story. I'm really enjoying it. Although there are about a billion things wrong with it.

I just sat through and thoroughly enjoyed Sontaran Experiment. I've never been a big fan of it, but it really was a good way to pass 50 minutes. I found the disappearing and reappearing South African accents fairly amusing though.

I watched Saw 3 the other day, but the last Dr Who I watched was Tooth and Claw.
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

I watched the latter episodes of Time-Flight last night, for some random reason.

I used to quite like it, what with all the TARDIS hopping that goes on, but last night I just found it rather dull. Hardly anything happens! The Master reveals himself and steals the TARDIS in order to steal some props from it, meanwhile the Doctor goes into the sanctum, then leaves, then swaps back his props for a faulty prop, then everyone goes home. And exactly how does the Doctor get to Heathrow before the Master? I know he says he's rigged the temporal limiter, but what the hell does that actually mean?

    Nostalgia failed me.

I've watched Logopolis the other night for the first time (found it a bit too bleak)

I've just watched Paradise Towers and found it a mixed bag. It's my first foray into Season 24, so I was probably unprepared for the farce and embarrasment factor. Actually in places it was entertaining, refreshing even.

I'm also in the middle of watching Planet of the Spiders which I'm really enjoying so far- got up to Episode 2 last night. I just feel like watching it episodically.

As my Dalek Conquests CD arrived on Monday, I decided to make a start on that this week instead of Tomb, and in small chunks I have now gone through Dalek and the Hartnell era, so I'm a good quarter of the way through. Rather enjoyable and easy listening so far and looking to be worth each of the 699 pennies I spent on it!

I've been feeling like a right old grump tonight, so to cheer myself I've watched The Leisure Hive.

Oh yes, you'd think that was entirely the wrong story to watch when you're feeling grumpy, but being one of the very few people who really like this story (some might say love...) I say you're all wrong! Gloriously scored and directed with three fantastic cliffhangers, this is a story I adore.

for Si's always joyous comments on The Leisure Hive.

The last Who I watched was the second half of "The Ark in Space" on Monday on BBC4. I have to say I don't think I've ever enjoyed this story quite as much as I have on this repeat - somehow it just really held me, and some of the dialogue is still buzzing round my head now, such as the Doctor's various defences of mankind ("And neither must we, Sarah - what we're protecting is too important"). Just beautiful.

Just finished The Web Planet, and I've found I've enjoyed it a lot more than I expected!

So far, Season 2 has been very good overall (the only disappointment being Planet of Giants, although I do have The Space Museum coming up!) - who knows - I might even enjoy The Time Meddler!
