Si, I've been having the same problem in the last couple of days, and I'm not marking any of them as read.

Yeah, it did it to me too. I posted a thread in the Crooked World and did not look at any of the other threads there, and did not mark anything read, and when I came back later.. all the threads that were marked for having new messages are no longer marked now.

The same thing happens on other forums that use this software eg Moopy. It used to happen on OG but they fixed it somehow.

Another odd occurance: I haven't been to the site since last thurday. I have not been in the DVD forum at any time today. I see that the last post to the DVD forum was earlier today, and yet the forum is not colored as having new posts. For some reason all of those posts are not recognized as new...

Actually, looking through the forums now, it appears that the only things that are marked 'new' are things that have been posted since i first logged on this morning. Its as if the whole site was marked read, even though I never pushed a button to mark it read. This was what happened last week when I first logged on as well, but then it seemed okay the rest of the week until this morning.

There was a setting thingummy for this on EZBoard, but I can't remember what it was. When you submit a reply, you want to go straight to other threads on the same forum, not back into the thread you just posted to.

    Si.

Si, I think I may have found the fix for this as well:

I have mentioned this to Mr Hunt (he's our forum installer type person, being comfortable with the technicalities of MySQL etc).

    Editing posts.

I can't seem to edit my first post about the Bracknell Dr Who group to update the next meet up details.

    ==

I guess there's some time-out issue as I can edit this post (evidently!)

So can I ask a Mod/Admin to amend my first post so that under "Next meet" it says something like: Please see later posts for details of the next meet.
    ?

    Ta.

There's a 24 hour limit on being able to edit posts, Phil - and I'm rather embarassed to admit that I'm not sure whether the Mods can amend it either beyond that time. I'll go and have a look now, and if I can, I will!

    Edited to Add:We can & I have!

See my seperate thread on Database Errors Ralph - no need to keep reporting them I don't think, as I said in that thread every computer will sulk on the odd occasion!

    I have an avatar.

In a change from EzBoard, this new avatar is on all my old posts; I guess the software uses the latest details from the posters profile and doesn't save the avatar info.

    On an unrelated note,
Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened. You may only have up to 3 line(s).
Can I have 4 lines please?
I just want to put the "Bill McKenna" on the next line down, and I don't think 4 lines is excessive.

There weren't any problems with the server as far as I know, nothing reported anyway. Seems alright now. You just have to expect these things from time to time.
