Default Virgin 1 launches on Freeview

Freeview channel Ftn is being replaced by Virgin 1 on 1 October.
Ftn is/was good for repeats of The Crystal Maze, and not much else, whereas Virgin 1 seems to be trying to be Freeview's answer to Sky One.
They have Star Trek Next Generation through to Enterprise (steady, Wayne), Knight rider and new shows; The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Riches (starring Eddie Izzard), and Help me, Help you with Ted Danson. Probably padded out with cheap tat aswell but worth a look.

I'm pretty intrigued by this, the fact that they've got so much Trek's a good sign to me, and I've seen the first episode of The Riches which was quite good too.

Freeview's now looking quite good, what with 'Dave' launching soon, I certainly have no interest in getting Sky anymore (that said I probably would consider it if it wasn't so easy to get hold of new shows in other ways).

"The Crystal Maze, and not much else"????

What about my current favourite Saturday night show 3-2-1? Or pervy guff like Fort Boyard and Gladiators?

Virgin Media Television should still own the rights to Ftn programmes. They might decide to use The Crystal Maze, Fort Boyard and 3-2-1 as cheap tat filler.

I forgot about that. And Fort Boyard features some rather tight shorts doesn't it?
