Carol says her post was contrary to mine, but it actually reinforced my point that it was broadcast as 'The Trial Of A Time Lord', and so should be packaged as such!

Disagreeing by agreeing with me? Now I'm confused!

I don't like the series box set packaging of DVD's and prefer each story to come in it's own individual caseit looks better on your shelf and much easier to get at.

but could you not argue that Key to Time, is the same as well -

TOATL may be on the titles as the beginning but it is still in theory 4 seperate linking stories that in general have been given the over all season title TOATL just as KTT was given for season 16.

Actually I've been led to believe that it was the reverse. ToaTL was a 14 part story told in 4 parts where as KTT was 6 stories linked by a common story/theme.

But, but, but... The first episode has "part one" and the last one has "part fourteen". It definitely is just one, huge, wibbly-wobbly, story.

It's been confirmed by attendees at the Dimensions convention today that Colin Baker is going to do a commentary for 'Mindwarp' with Philip Martin in a couple of weeks.

Will it be ninety minutes of, "So am I supposed to be genuinely loopy, or pretending, or is it a matrix lie?" "Ask Eric"?

I'm not a big fan of season 23 but I'm looking forward to the commentaries as I saw all the episdoes earlier this year.

It does open the can of worms as to whether or not you count it as one long story or 4 seperate ones. Feel free to pick from below or suggest an alternative...
Just out of curiosity (and I am sure I have known the answer to this in the past but have forgotten since), going by the story number count they list on the back of each DVD, have they counted Trial as four stories or one? (I'm not at home so I can't look and do the match). If they have already counted it as four stories then that may answer how they package it.

Well, for you guys in the US, BBCWWA have it seems counted it as four stories. But of course that won't dictate how 2|entertain release here in R2 (as no such numbering exists).

There was a thread about this recently on OG.

I'd like it packaged in a DVD box, which in a similar manner to those annoying musical Christmas cards plays a wav of Mel screaming whenever you open it ... non-stop ... for the rest of your natural life.

I didn't realize yours weren't numbered... I do have the R2 release of the TV Movie (since they will likely never release it over here - I can watch in on the PC but not any tv's but that is something at least) but I didn't pay that much attention to the box.

I think each episode should be sold seprately in individual TARDIS tins, that lock together to make one uber-TARDIS (or Big-Finish 'Battle-TARDIS'). Each disc sold at £20 with £19.99 going to the Doctor in Distress appeal!
