It's hard to really rate it fairly. Compared to recent Who it's not really as good, but that doesn't mean it isnt fun.

As a kids show, which of course it is, it's pretty good stuff.

Rating it on it's own merits as a kids program,

If I was rating it against mainstream Who, I'd knock a point or two off, but it's still entertaining stuff.

Is there a Sarah Jane Confidential program, I'm missing my dose of RTD's "Of course we've never tried to do this before in the childrens TV program", and of course "Pushing the boundaries". And of course the fan fave of "tonight the part of London will mainly be played by Cardiff".

And yes, I was rating it as a kids programme & not on a level with Doctor Who or Torchwood, that would be unfair.

You're so right, it would be unfair to Torchwood. So far I have to say I've enjoyed Sarah Jane as a spin off more than Torchwood.

That said I cynically believe the 12-16 year old target audience is probably more keen on having sex with gas alien mindreaders with a fetish for cyberkinkiness who then want to eat their flesh. They grow up so fast.

Overall a very conistent and enjoyable series - even Kudlak at the bottom there I really enjoyed the first episode in particular but was a bit let down by the second part - it's all relative though!
