Catching the predominantly student bus part of the way home today was a strange experience- kind of like being reminded of how intensely I used to live about fifteen years ago, and then at the bus stop waiting for my second bus a reminder of how even with another fifteen years of confidence and a little more stability, there's still a glass wall around me that I struggle to break through.
The bottom line is that if starting a conversation with a nice-looking Canadian girl at the bus stop means possibly missing my bus, I'll take the bus every time. And that makes me feel very, very empty.
If only comfort zones weren't so, well, comfortable...

Thanks to MArk Ayres, I know this trivia fact:
It is worth bearing in mind that The Verve get nothing from "Bitter Sweet Symphony". It is based around a sample of a Rolling Stones track which was used without permission. While a fine was avoided, the settlement with the Stones means that the Stones take all the income the song generates!
