James is good, but Joe did superb jobs of Dalek, Father's Day, Boomtown, Bad Wolf & particularly The Parting Of The Ways.

With the pattern of voting it's not hard to guess who's name will be here when i get up tomorrow. Unless Paul Clement gets here first, perhaps.

I don't get the Harper hating here. C'mon, the man directed one of the best Who episodes of all time- CAVES OF ANDROZANI!!!!!!! "And I'm Not Gonna Let You Stop Me Now!"

    C'MON!!!!!!!!

    C'MON!!!!!!!!
    Bollocks yourself!

He's just the populist choice because he directed on both the Classic series & the New Series.
Dalek, Father's Day, Boomtown, Bad Wolf & particularly The Parting Of The Ways.
I like 'Caves', but all these except 'Boomtown' are better than any that Harper directed.

I think Harper's Utopia was the best directed episode of the New Series yet... IMO.

    I've only seen it once.
Yes, i remember it now. It's the one with a decent 'Master' in it.

I like Ainley's master. Even if he WAS corny, at least you got the feeling he was having fun with the part and truly enjoyed and lived and breathed the part (Colin Baker: "We talked about cricket quite a lot and he also talked about being the master...and that's about it really")

I never knew he was a populist choice. I really like Caves cos' it was refreshing to look at compared to the rest of Davison's era and he's just very talented. For me, he earns the win.

    YESS!!!!!! HARPER WINS!!!!!!

Thank gawd I stayed up for the Presidential Debate

I don't understand why Douglas didn't win though, he was fantastic with his work in The Invasion. C'mon, the Cybermen march by the cathedral and the accompanying reaction shots along with it were beautiful.

Camfield aside perhaps, I'd say the best man won, overall.

Graeme Harper is a worthy winner though I'm not sure he would of been my choice.

Well, it's been an epic contest, and there have been some surprises along the way, with such classic directors as Chris Barry, David Maloney, Barry Letts and David Maloney being knocked out comparatively early on, but, I'd have to say, Graeme Harper is a worthy winner.

    Thanks everyone for taking part.

Well he said "With the decent" Master in it, and I was defending Ainley just in case lol

I did stay up for the debate and then checked my emails and saw it was drawing near the end, and with 10 minutes left to midnight I just thought, "eh why not" lol

Rather good debate I thought, I just hope Clinton doesn't win...I'm sure she won't lol
