Inferno just gets my vote ahead of Day of the Daleks. Both covers I like a lot, with the Ogrons on Day looking very good.

Mutation of Time for me! Bloody brilliant cover
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I'm with steve on this one, The Mutation of Time is a highly atmospheric masterpiece. One of Alister's finest ever efforts.

The Web Of Fear, The Cybermen and Day Of The Daleks have all boasted better covers than these, and, while Inferno certainly stands out, it can't hold a torch to The Mutation Of Time, which is one of the finest pieces of artwork to ever grace a Target novel - even if it does take a few artistic liberties with the Dalek!

I do love the Mutation cover, however ... I also love that original Cybermen cover, mainly because although it may be the "wrong" Cyberman, it also happens to be my favourite Cyberman design, so coupled with another great Achilleos b&w pic of Troughton, I love this one and was always disappointed that when I came to buy it in the early 80s I got the more accurate but duller reprint with the two Cybermen on the front cover.

I've gone for The Cybermen but it was a close run thing between it & Mutation and Web for me. There's not enough Who icon action on Inferno for me to vote for that & that Day cover just doesn't look right for some reason.

Web of Fear, for me. Much better than the original!

I don't recall ever seeing that one before, & i've honestly just had a little chuckle to myself at how rubbish i thought it looked.
I was very tempted to go for Mutation of Time which is great, but nostalgia wins out for the iconic 'Doctor Who and the Cybermen' cover.

Shall I go for the iconic one? Even though it's got the wrong cyberman on it? Oh, go on then! Moonbase/Cybermen was the first Dr Who book i owned, so there's some sentimental value there as well.

Am I the only person on PS, nay in the world, who doesn't much like Mutation of Time's cover? The bit with Hartnell in it is finely-done, but the Dalek just looks stupid. It's accurate enough, but it doesn't really 'fit' the rest of the cover. I can't really explain what I mean better than that, except perhaps to say that it's like the VT Whomobile on the film backgrounds in Planet of the Spiders - a very glaring mismatch.

Moving on... That Day of the Daleks cover is pretty naff (plus that edition of the book loses points with me for shamefully excluding the drawings from inside the book). The Web of Fear is a nicely atmospheric little drawing, and in most other rounds would have got my vote. Inferno is striking, simple but effective.

But for me there's no contest. One of the earliest Who books I read, and for a long time (pre-eBay anyway) the only one I had in my collection with that original pre-diamond logo, it's got to be The Moonb-- I mean, The Cybermen. Oh yes!

Does that mean Andrew is PS's very own Sally Sparrow...?

I think I've just disgusted myself.
