Why's Series 4 out so early?

Torchwood seems early too - if they start airing in January, and assuming it's 13 episodes again, then surely they won't finish transmitting until the end of March? I suppose in the words of JN-T we'll have to "Stay Tuned" to this thread!!

depending on when the 4th series ends that release date for the box set would almost be at the same time as the final vanilla DVD is released - unless they have brought the 4th series box set release forward because they intend to do some thing special to coincide with the 45th anniversary in november.

    That's an interesting thought...

They're getting excited over on OG:

    2|Entertain Catalogue Q1 2008

A few mistakes (as spotted by Steve Roberts), but could the rest of it be spot on?

Note 'Voyage of the Damned' listed as 75 minutes as well.

Edited to add: Tegan's Box is selling well.

Sales figures were the most interesting thing there, the guy shouldn't really have posted them!

"Sontaran Experiment" having sold twice as many copies as "Arc"'/"Timeflight" must have annoyed someone. Get "The Kings Demons" and "The Rescue" out now!!

Although that lists units shifted, it doesn't take into account price crash. I reckon Tegan's Box has had a better hold on it's price than the Sontaran "We've got it for £7.99!" Experiment.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Yeah but the difference in price has a lot to do with 'The Sontaran Experiment' being only 2 episodes, doesn't it? I thought the rrp was cheaper than all the others from the outset.

Anyone hasn't "Tegan" had to be heavily and widely reduced since then? Presumably because it didn't, unsurprisingly, prove a hit with consumers.

So Genesis of the Daleks is the best selling classic series Doctor Who DVD to date?

Genesis of The Daleks hasn't been available on video for years, neither has its BBC Video bedfellow, Sontaran Experiment.

It's slightly surprising to me that these two were released separately, when two sort-of-related Tegan stories were stuffed together.

Perhaps it's because they knew that 2 classics from the Golden Era would sell more than well enough in their own right, whereas 2 average Davo stories stand a marginally better chance of selling more than 2 dozen copies if they're bunged together.

To be fair, the Tegan stories were just as related as the Season 12 stories - Genesis followed Sontaran, Arc followed Time-Flight.

Things changed a lot at 2entertain between "Genesis" and "Arc" came out. It was the coming of Daniel Hall and the leaning towards box sets that did it.

Didn't the RT always say that Tom stories tended to sell better than the rest?

For a long time, Peter Davison's stories were regularly the best selling DVDs, weren't they?

No-one really knows (except 2|e). I think he was one of the better sellers, but in America, at least, Tom Baker stories outsold other Doctors by 2 to 1.
