Default Michael 'Evil' Grade Moves To ITV!!!

BBC chairman Grade moves to ITV

Mr Grade is seen as a figure who can attract advertisers to ITV

BBC chairman Michael Grade is to leave the public service broadcaster and move to its biggest terrestrial rival ITV.
The move will be a blow to the BBC, where Mr Grade was steering it through complex licence fee negotiations with the government.
He was also due to head the independent body that was to replace the Board of Governors and oversee the BBC.
ITV has been looking for a new boss since Charles Allen left in August as the firm struggled to boost profits.

Go to ITV Mr.Grade - you'll love it! That's the home of quality drama for sure.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Just been watching the coverage on Sky News. They've spent over an hour on the story and are absolutely loving the "carnage and mayhem" at BBC.

News 24 spent about thirty seconds on it.

"ITV ARE SAVED!! BBC IN CRISIS!!"

    It's beautifully timed as well.

    Bring back Dyke!!

Or is it time for Yentob to get the top job?

Even while reading the news this morning, amid all the talk about what a shock or crisis it was for the BBC, I guessed there might be some people pleased about it...

The headline should have read "Boring old farts shuffle round dull but powerful media jobs".

ITV can only be saved by getting new writers with new ideas to uplift their boring schedules. They could do with a couple of good sit-coms and a good ongoing drama series that doesn't turn into a soap.

They reported this on the BBC six o'clock news... they mentioned how Grade was at the Beeb in the 80s when Eastenders launched, but nothing was said about how he helped axe one of today's biggest/most popular programmes..

certainly a shock and supprise this one I'd of thought Grade, would of been at the BBC, for a good few years to come - but this is definitely a coup for itv and Grade, is exactly the sort of person they need to revive their sagging fortunes/.

It's unlikely sadly, they're a big cashcow for ITV...I wish they'd bring back Men and Motors to Freeview*, but it seems like it's never going to happen.

I wonder what Grade will do at ITV that will make any changes though? Order high brow drama and comedy? Keep on making rather dull and very average stuff? Make even more reality tv? Or just give Ant and Dec billions and ask them to take over control of the channel? I'd be surprised if that in a year's time ITV's output will have varied much at all to be honest...

Anyhoo, I've never liked the man, so I'm glad he's now working at my least favourite channel!

Which sounds odd, I know, but the late night dodgy soft core porn stuff was always fun!

    Default Dear God... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The front runners for the now vacant position of Chairman of the BBC

    Lord Birt - 4/1
    Lord Burns - 4/1
    Lord Puttnam - 5/1
    David Dimbleby - 5/1
    Baroness Jay - 8/1
    Melvyn Bragg - 8/1
The first one of those has me worried. VERY worried.

I've no idea who Lord Burns is

    I would've thought that Yentob might've stood a chance?

It always shocks me how people are awake at that hour of the night/morning, and decide to phone in.

I know what you mean Martin. Sometimes I'm awake at that hour, but I'd never phone in!
