Pogoing along to a slice of seventies punk I've just re-discovered a forgotten classic from Poly Styrene's band X-Ray Specs, Germ Free Adolescents, a song about OCD.

    I know you're antiseptic
    Your deodorant smells nice
I'd like to get to know you
But you're deep frozen like the ice

    He's a germ free adolescent
    Cleanliness is her obsession
Cleans her teeth ten times a day
Scrub away scrub away scrub away
    The S.R. way....

You may get to touch her
    If your gloves are sterilised
    Rinse your mouth with listerine
    Blow disinfectant in her eyes

    Her phobia is infection
    She needs one to survive
    It's her built-in protection
Without fear she'd give up and die

    Poly Styrene (c) 1976

Oh Bondage Up Yours! is pretty good too.

Not entirely sure what it means that yesterday I bought three albums (after a long time of not buying anything)- Elvis, the Velvet Underground and Nico and the Dixie Chicks, the latter of which is playing at the moment.

I hope it's a CDR only promo edit single in Brazil.

I've been doing everything Spice today.

Have you had a bit too much of anything this week girls?

Great video too. My gran used to have the soup mug featured in that promo.

    It's a fact, it's a thing you can't deny.

    We've got all her albums.

I love buying music legally. Crystal clear quality, peace of mind... and just 79p for a new song. Bargain!

She's already given me that track when we swapped CD's a while ago, but i wanted to buy it to show my support.
I'll skank the big rich artists anytime, but always support those who are trying to get somewhere & do something.

In contrast, we've been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd. When Dave Tudor going to start the oft-mooted time team? I want to put the boot into Animals.

I've been "Tangled Up" with Girls Aloud and their smash new album including the hits "Sexy! No, No, No" , "Call The Shots" and the forthcoming "I Can't Speak French".

Shame about the awful cover art.

Matthew Jay: Draw. Such a great album and a reminder of a talent that was cut off before it reached it peak.

Dunno, but i'll probably be too old & senile to take part.

(If i'm not already. *Thought i'd get that one in before anybody else)

Her best solo track to date, thanks to Mr Rice-Oxley.

Currently listening to the forthcoming new Moby cd, called 'Last Night'. A "tribute to the New York dance scene", it sounds like it was recorded in his bedroom, about 10 years ago!!
