Exciting! It looks like a good package, and not by any means a 'vanilla' release as you'd expect from the story length...

Wow! Four deleted scenes (to doomsday)! That sounds interesting.

I'm a bit worried about 'Film Restoration' though. What does that mean?

I'm quite looking forward to this one.

Odd to have the story on disc 2 isn't it?

Coming soon: the Invasion of Time? Oh my!

This looks like being a lovely little release.

Could be worse. I'd rather have 'The Awakening', but hey, it's not bad.

Fantastic! 'Black Orchid' is a superb little story, possibly my favourite two-parter, and it looks like there are some decent extras included. It's a shame there's no documentary, as it would have been nice to have heard the cast's thoughts on making the story, but you can't have evrything, I suppose!

I hope they just put the Harlequin on the cover, rather than having it shared between Davison, Nyssa and Anne in their outfits, Davison in cricket whites, Adric eating cake, Sir George and the TARDIS. And a black orchid in the middle of it all.

As this is the story where Sarah Sutton gets to give her most demanding and stunning performance, I think it's only right that she is on the cover twice, once as Nyssa and once as Anne. Perhaps, if photoshop can oblige, standing back to back with herself with one Sarah pointing to her lips and going 'ssshhhh!' and the other giving a saucy wink.

Trust me to have just watched this... good choice though, I hope it's not a full price DVD though.

I wish we could have a lenticular cover showing Tegan dancing the Charleston.

    Well, strike me pink!

I have a distinct weakness for anything S19-related, so this one can consider itself bought.

    QUITE TOPPING!

Sarah Sutton had better get some good signing gigs off the back of this one!

Isn't this the only Doctor Who (to date) to be feature a glimpse of P-Bal's hometown? Get a signing organised in your bathroom!

I like "Black Orchid". It's like a little holiday episode in the midst of all the dramatics of Season 19.

The first time I read it's title (in the DWM 1987 Autumn Special) I mis-read it as "Black Orchard".

This is a cracking little story and I'm well pleased to see this released. I can't however see why it seems to be a 2 disc set. The extras (as good as they look) barely cover the equivalent of 2 episodes as it is, so why the extra disc?

Of course, Baysan will be upset now that his desired for "The Peter Davison 2 Parters" box set won't be happening.

It's only 1 disc Jonno, that's just how the extras were submitted to the BBFC.

Can Adric be on the back of the lenticular cover, so that when you tilt the DVD he lifts some cake into his mouth?

Or perhaps the cake server accidentally bludgeons him to death?

I'm sure some would like to see him raising something else to his mouth.
