It was a struggle, and Gunfighters ended up being the straw that broke the camel's back. Keep in mind that Gunfighters is IMO the second worst Doctor Who story of all time after Greatest Show. Celestial Toymaker is just irritating in comparison.

There do appear to be two kinds fo fans - those who prefer the Gunfighters to the Celestial Toymaker, and those who are insane

The Celestial Toymaker is pretty much watching stupid people play party games for 4 episodes with no appreciable sense of menace, while the only other plot thread is basically the Toymaker counting very slowly to 1,000 over an hour and a half. The Gunfighters is amazing entertainment by comparison*

Okay I shouldn't have said "watching"... but really that just emphasises how bad it is that we can't even do that anymore, we have to LISTEN to stupid people playing party games.

And someone says the N-word. It's like an episode of Big Brother.

I think this is the right place to say this.

On November 23rd, 2007, I started watching them all, one episode a day.

HOWEVER, I made certain alterations to the proper "marathon".

    They were:
    • At the end of every story, I allow one day to watch all the DVD extras.
    • At the end of each Doctor, I go back to my favourite story of that Doctor and watch it all in one go.
    • I am also going to include Torchwood and SJA.

So here are a couple of questions for the terminally bored.

1.) What episode did I watch today?

2.) When will I catch up with TV?

    Good luck!

    No idea!

I don't really get the concept. How are we supposed to know? "The Mutants" Part 4?

I've been planning this sort of marathon for a few years now. I'm waiting to finish collecting the recons, of which I still need about 8 stories. I've no idea how many episodes I'll watch a week/day......

    Too many unknown variables
    • do you have every single DVD that has been released?
    • do you have all the missing stories on audio?
    • are you going back to watch DVD extras on stories which are released after you started, for stories that you have already visited ?
    • do you have New Series vanilla releases or boxsets ?
    • how many versions of the 5 doctors are you going to watch ?
    • at what point will you watch K9 and company ?

You work it out by taking the date that I started and counting up until you reach March 15th 2009.

I did say it was only for the terminally bored.

And actually, your guess wasn't too far out.

Don't we have to take the intervening year into account too?

    Answers:

    • No. I shall find the episodes on the internet, or just watch nothing on those days.
    • Some of them. See previous answer.
    • If I come to a gap in my collection, I'll just wait until the next day, or whenever I can jump back into the game.
    • Vanillas.
    • Only the Special Edition.
    • Between Logopolis and Castrovalva.

    Does that answer your questions?

Because I think it's better than the original.

Aren't I entitled to think that?

No. Don't you know that in the official Planet Skaro Rule Book, any mention of the SE Five Doctors being in any way, shape or form superior to the original TV Version is outlawed for being offensive to any Si on the forum.

    Just so you know.

On November 23rd, 2007, I watched part 1 of An Unearthly Child.

Today, I watched The Big Bang.

My life has just become terribly empty.
