    Default New-Who chronology

Talk about the Harry Potter chronology reminds me of the one thing that I'm a bit lost about at the moment. The chronology of the Earth based episodes of the new series.

This is what I think at the moment. Anyone want to correct any of my ideas?

    2005: Rose
2006: Aliens of London/World War Three, remainder of Season 1.
    Christmas 2006: The Christmas Invasion
    2007: Doctor Who Season 2.
Late 2007: first half of Torchwood Season 1
    Christmas 2007: The Runaway Bride
Early 2008: Doctor Who Season 3 and second half of Torchwood Season 1, followed by Utopia to Last of the Timelords
Christmas 2008: Voyage of the Damned

I'm confused when Sarah Jane fits in, or when Blink fits in as they refer to 2007 in that episode, which would be a 2008 Doctor Who episode.

It's always possible that Blink is set a year earlier than the other modern-day episodes in the same series.

Welcome to the joys of reconciling Doctor Who chronology, Geoff. This is something that has dogged fandom for years and years and years, both trying to fit it in with current events and internally within the series.

It's all the more disappointing as RTD made a big thing in an early Production notes about how every single scene in the script says when & where it's set. They gave up bothering very quickly!
