Face of Evil is fantastic- a brilliant painting, very atmospheric and one I remember the libaray having in hardback. Great. Hooray for Jeff Cummins.

If I hadn't voted for it I would have gone for Ambassadors, which I like a great deal too. Castrovalva is not very inspiring. Curse is a typical Achilleos montage and is rather nice, but a little muted in its colours and The Daemons is fine.

Must have been a tough one for poor Ralph, with three Pertwees to pick from!

Actually, I was tempted by Peladon as it's another Achilleos one I like, and again my copy is approx. 30 years old and was a much loved one, but Face of Evil is one of my all-time fave pieces of Who art. It might be a straightforward image, but it's well drawn and I find even the blue surround is quite striking. Although I'm not overly keen on the story itself, the book was one I remember getting out of the library and at school a few times.

Three iconic covers, a photo cover which at least had a modicum of thought put into it (a background! hah!), and Ambassadors.

I went for Face Of Evil, which is brilliantly painted and has excellent likenesses of the lead actors on it.

    And Leela's legs.

    And Leela's legs.
    What an excellent reason.

Don't really like that Ambassadors, cover for me it's very much like some of those awful video cover drawings we got in the 1990's where the drawings looked nthing like The Doctor it was supposed to be.

Castravalva is abysmaly bland, Cusre I like as I do The Daemons but Face of Evil wins for me.

Face of EVil is the best cover, but is clearly safely through already, so I'm voting for the second best cover IMO Daemons.

Daemons doesn't look quite right somehow, & Ambassadors is pretty poor, whilst the Castrovalva cover is as dull as dishwater, so it suits the story.
It's defintely between Face of Evil & Curse, but Curse pips it with nostalgia vote.

The first three are excellent, but 'Ambassadors' is poor, and 'Castrovalva' is awfule. However, of those thre classics, it's the brilliant 'Face Of Evil' cover which gets my vote, for all the reasons mentioned before.

    Including Leela's legs.

I think this is a great idea. Having 3 or 4 Pertwee stories in a group. It means we can get rid of them more quickly.
