From witty dialogue and sublime comic timing to farting aliens and less-than-special effects, Doctor Who has always given us a bit of a laugh. So what we want to know is, which are the funniest moments in Doctor Who history?

Do you love that Douglas Adams/late Tom-era humour? Or do you prefer it black comedy Saward style? Or just plain silly ala season 24? Do you enjoy Hartnell and Troughton's comedy turns in The Romans and The Highlanders? Pertwee's tendancy to gurn? Robert Holmes' comic double acts? Benton's bare arse? The platform-booted Nimon? Davison's garlic gags and the panto Myrka in Warriors On The Cheap? Even RTD's attempts at CBBC humour?

They can be intentional or complete unintentional, if it gets you laughing, it counts. Allons-y!

The Brigadier always makes me laugh with his sheer outrage at most of the Doctor's antics.

"Really Doctor, you'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next!"
"This isnt a picnic!"
"BE QUIET SIR!"

And the Doctor/Davros interaction in Destiny always gives me a chuckle.

"I'm fairly sure that's Cromer!" (sic?) Why does that line upset so many people re. the brig not being serious enough? It's a bit of fun! Great humour!

Some thimgs that are supposed to make me laugh but are just embarrassing:

Similarly with the foam in 'Seeds of Death'

McCoy's pratfalling

The Romans & The Time Meddler

Borderline between the two: Peter Purves in The Chase on the Empire State building

Humour that fails dismally is that prat fall of Tom's in City of Death.

I like the bit in the Space Museaum when the Doctor conjures up the images of him on a penny farthing and in a Victorian bathing suit!

Tennant's "No, no... don't... er, don't do that." catchphrase.

Ingrid Pitt's kung-fu antics with the Myrka.

"She's climbing out of the window isn't she?"
"Yes she is."

The horse following the Doctor round the SS Madame Du Pompadour.

And one bit of humour that was painful - the blow job gag from 'Love And Monsters'. Eeeek.

The teleportings scene in Boom Town might be a bit childish, but we laughed at it. Just thinking about it now brings a smile to my face!

Keeper of Traken has Luvic and Katura pretending to be blown about by the wind, but they're just staggering about really. That makes me smile, pity it's not meant to.

Too many Tom moments to remember, but City Of Death's "you're a beautiful woman probably" comes to mind, as does a fair bit of the story - "So it's the Jagaroth that need all the chickens...?" and "No make it half a bottle; we don't want to interfere with the work." Also, "Do you know, you're the perfect example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain."

Billy's tribute to PS - "What do you think this is, a space helmet for Rob McCow?"

There must be more hiding in the Tizer-befuddled remains of my mind...

The Doctor and Jack arguing about the sonic screwdricer in The Empty Child was LOL..

Plenty as there may be (and likely to be said by others ), one that springs to mind was on Terror Of The Autons (which I properly watched for the first time earlier in the week).

The Doctor's working in the TARDIS, and sings to himself:
"I don't want to set the world on fi-" BOOM!
Made me laugh out loud!

and

"Why don't you speak up? I'm deaf!"

"That is an old Chinese woman."

On the then 'DW2005' forum, he posted a still from 'The Time Monster' of the shot of Benton naked from behind, as part of series of pics showing the 'fun' side of that particular story.
But administrator Timelord Dan, removed it because it broke his 'no nudity' rule, even though it was just a frame from a 1972 Dr.Who story! Ridicululous or what?
In the ensuing fuss several people including Ralph, were threatened with a ban i believe, or maybe actually were temporarily banned for protesting at Dan's ludicrous stance. I can't remember exactly.
Another example of Dr.Who fandom at it's best, eh?
It was about that time that i started to try to get the more sensible members of that forum like Ralph & MacNimon over onto PS.
