    Default The Neighbours Thread

since the old thread is more than a footstep away.

Loads of cracking storylines recently. Sublime acting from Stiffy Dennis in this week's episodes.

I've been reading the Australian episode blurbs (I 'm a sad git!) and there's some juicy stuff coming up for Paul, Izzy, Lynn, Elle, Carmella, Max and especially Katya...

when she learns how to act convincingly.

Sadly, there's also some more Timmins and Sky guff as well.

I'm only watching it to see The Mighty Stiffy Dennis.

There's still slightly too much Timmins action dragging it down these days, though.

Might as well post something decent while I'm here (for a change )...

Here are some caps from the latest Australian opening titles, featuring the four new "house share" characters:

Heidi "Pepper" Steiger & Rosetta Cammeniti

    Carmella & Sky

Will Griggs & Heidi "Pepper" Steiger and Frazer Yeats & Rosetta Cammeniti

Same again, but a few frames later

    WORSHIP THE STIFFY

The opening titles don't get any better, do they?

Link to a decent article about the new stars from The Daily Telegraph (Aus) below:

    New kids on the block

Rosetta is Carmella's sister and the dude who plays Will (Christian Clark) has already left the show at the end of his twelve week contract.

Good to see Nelly Furtado with Stephanie MacKintosh there.

I wonder if Mr Hunt has seen this news which'll make him very excited:

TV Week reports that there will be a couple of well-known faces making guest appearances in Erinsborough in 2007. Rowena Wallace, best known for her role as Pat the Rat in Sons and Daughters will be on Australian screens in April, as part of a major storyline...

    Who's the other well-known face?

Today we had Katya in her underwear and the newbies in their first episode. The Fletch is appearing in Soapstar Superstar as well.

It's time to dig up this thread.

Max is on the run! Katya is a right dog! Paul likes first class! What a boring episode!

Yes today's was woeful. Not a great idea introducing three new regulars all in one fell swoop and even less so if Ned is involved seeing as he has about as much charisma as a block of cheese. The new girl looks just like Sky.

It's like the reverse of "Battlefields" trick of shipping all your supporting characters off in a big van - they all just arrive and pile into the spare house together! Probably we'll get used to this new lot - I like Carmella's sister (and she looks oddly like her!) and whilst we don't need yet another frizzy-haired ditzy, no-doubt globally-aware, big-sister type young woman, Pepper will probably grow on us. I think less of her moody fake-boyfriend who is horrible.

Do we suspect that, having popped off to New York in that taxi, outrageously Lynne Scully might just never come back?

If you're missing Janet Andrewartha, you can look forward to her long running Prisoner: Cell Blcok H character in the future!

Young! Does that mean she gets in the titles?

The "title sequence" is really weird. Musicless, and based on a random 3 cast members each week!

Whatever happened to Boyd- he used to be a weedy git like the freak, then he became a sort of rippling mass of manlyness!

Did he have a body transplant!

    I think it's a good development!

I saw Neighbours for the time this year today and it seems the show has lifted itself out of the doldrums a little. The new characters are good and seem to add a little something. I'm looking forward to gettign to know them a bit better.

Steve's been at home, and watching Inspector Morse, so I've mixed my regular fix.

I tried complaining. It did no good!

Is the other new housemate a steaming gayer then? It seems doubtful as this is Neighbours but you never know...we must be due one that's young and attractive(ish).

I spotted the "I doubt it" comment when she mentioned him understanding women. Do we think he could be a screaming poof?

Didn't "Pepper" (very Neighbours) say she had a job at the local school the other day? Why then was she interviewing for the P.E. job today?

    So many questions, need answers.
