Default Which are the stories where NOBODY dies?

This is a debatable topic, but can we try and identify all the stories where NOBODY dies? Everyone knows "Fury from the Deep", but there are actually quite a few. You might like to debate "The Mind Robber" or consider that no-one is proven to die in "The Three Doctors".

But my question is - does anyone actually snuff it in "Invasion of the Dinosaurs"? We watched it recently and, you know, I'm not convinced anyone does. Apart from Barry Letts' decision making credibility of course.

Isn't there a looter shot by soldiers in the first episode after holding up the Doctor and Sarah in a shop somewhere?

As for stories in the above category, there's Edge of Destruction and Empty Child.

"Fear Her" is a recent example of a story where nobody dies.

Technically in Blink someone dies, but no-one is really killed.

Going back to where it all started, nobody dies (fortunately!) in The Edge of Destruction and although I'm not overly familiar with it, I don't think anyone does in The Sensorites either?

For a more recent story, I was going to suggest The Girl in the Fireplace. Granted, Reinette dies but it didn't happen as part of the narrative - the Doctor just happened to visit her after she'd died!

Isn't someone murdered right at the beginning of that? One of the others pretends to be him on the phone, and they talk about disposing of his body on a boat or something, but I don't know if it actually happens on screen.

Well it depends on what you think the Valeyard did with the real Keeper of the Matrix Unless by "The Ultimate Foe" you mean "Terror of the Vervoids", but given how many obvious deaths there are in that probably not. Of course, that wouldn't really count anyway as it's really the last two episodes of a fourteen part story

I've always wondered WHY nobody dies in Fury from the Deep. Quite a few people clearly "die" during the course of the story, and the "oh don't worry they all survived" endind is so obviously contrived and last minute, you have to wonder what weird behing the scenes events led to that decision.

Perhaps they just wanted it to be a bit feel-good, what with Victoria leaving and all, the nation's kids would already have been tearful. The death of Maggie Harris as well might have tipped them over the brink.

    Planet of the Giants?
Isn't that bloke shot right at the start? True, it's got to be one of the least interesting deaths in the whole series, but it still counts.

I think we should veto Jonno's "Girl in the Fireplace" as well. Okay, we don't SEE Renet die, but we see her coffin being wheeled away on a wagon. That's got to count for something.

I think many viewers died of boredom; does that count?

www.drwhoguide.com has this to say about episode 1 of Invasion (of the Dinosaurs)...

"The Doctor and Sarah follow, carefully and see the car. The Doctor goes into the store but the looter has hidden before they get inside. He comes out with a gun and tells them to get against the wall. The Doctor tells Sarah to do as he says. The Doctor asks what is going on. When the looter leaves and drives away, Sarah almost tried to follow but the Doctor stopped her -- the looter was liable to shoot her out of terror. The police don't answer. The duo hear a loud crash and a roar. They find the car smashed and the man hanging out of it, dead, one side of his face bloody to a pulp."

    Surely that counts

I've never seen it, so I can't say for sure, but I've a feeling nobody dies in The Massacre.

Quite ironic considering the title of the story...
