well considering the 5.15pm start it's a fantastic result just verysurprised to see Downton solow down the table but I guess because it clashed with Eastenders people either recorded it or watched it on itv+1.

The Snowmen is at 9.78m after five days of time shift. This puts it behind EastEnders (11.16) and Call the Midwife (10.06) and level with The Royle Family. It's currently beating Corrie (9.62), Downton (9.52) and Strictly (9.09).

    Looking good isn't it?

The final viewing figure for The Snowmen has been reported as 9.87m, with it apparently being the biggest time shifted programme ever!

    From Digital Spy:
The Doctor Who Christmas Day special attracted almost 1.5 million programme requests on BBC iPlayer last month, helping the catch-up TV platform enjoy another record-breaking festive period.

And your averages so far per season...

    Season 1 7.9 million
    Season 2 7.7 million
    Season 3 7.5 million
    Season 4 8.0 million
    Season 5 7.7 million
    Season 6 7.5 million
    Season 7 7.9 million.

So remarkably consistent. I don't think we're in any way doomed right now, are we?

In fact, if you take the i-Player figures into consideration, then Doctor Who would now seem to be being watched by more people than ever. Not bad, not bad at all.

Seems we're once again in the land of massive timeshifts and low overnights...

The Rings of Akhaten had an overnight audience of 5.5 million viewers, a share of 28.8% of the total TV audience.

Doctor Who was once more third for the day, although the gap between the series and the programmes at the top of the chart was slightly larger, perhaps reflecting the lighter evenings.

Top of the list was Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway with 7.3 million watching, while The Voice was second with 6.4 million viewers.

Doctor Who once more won the time-slot with You've Been Framed Rides Again! getting 3.4 million watching.

Final ratings will be released next week, which should see Doctor Who substantially increase its rating once those who timeshift the programme are factored in.

Final rating in for The Bells of Saint John...

With 8.44m, The Bells of Saint John was the 8th most watched TV show of the week behind 5 x Coronation Street, 1 x EastEnders & Broadchurch.

It's a Chris Chibnall murder mystery show on ITV, starring David Tennant, Olivia Coleman and Arthur Darvill amongst others.

Blimey, talk about revenge of the Doctor Who cast-offs! Is it full of Chibnall horror?

I have to say, I'm not sure what's happened but what with 'Dinosaurs...', 'The Power of Three', and now 'Broadchurch' (which is excellent, by the way), Chibnall seems to have turned into a bloody good writer.

Broadchurch is excellent. Tennant is great in it too.

We are addicted to Broadchurch and so far we haven't managed to work out who did it!
I’m being extremely clever up here and there’s no one to stand around looking impressed! What’s the point in having you all?

Final ratings data for the week ending 7th April 2013 released by the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board, or BARB, gives Doctor Who: The Rings of Akhaten a final rating of 7.45 million viewers.

The final rating includes all those who record the programme and watch it within a week. It does not include the BBC Three repeat, where around 300,000 watched. Nor does it include those watching on iPlayer where over 1.7 million people have accessed the episode so far.

Doctor Who was the sixth highest rated show on BBC One for the week, where the top rated programme was Jonathan Creek with 8.75 million watching.

Well I was thinking (since about episode 3) that it was either the husband or son of Sgt. Miller.

Sometimes it feels so wrong when you're right.
Joe Miller was always the 'better fit' of the two suspects I said through the pure logistics of moving Danny's body.

    Good series.
