Notice in the Radio Times Choices Page, BGT is listed at 6pm and 8.30pm... but on the actual listings it's 7pm (to clash with Who) and 9.30pm. Do we think they moved it forwards to clobber Who at the last minute? Bastards.

Or perhaps it was originally 7pm but now they've moved it back to 6pm to avoid Who?

B.G.T is listed as 6:50 on the sky listings. Starting before Who & finishing way after. And this week is the first in a 2 parter isn't it? Crappy viewing figures for the next 2 weeks then.

Yes Pip, I know. But if it trashes week one of a two parter then people aren't going to watch part two if they missed part one. That's why I asked the question.

people aren't going to watch part two if they missed part one
But you're forgetting VCRs, DVD recorders, BBC3 repeat, iPlayer... there's plenty of opportunities for people to see part one at their leisure and then tune in for part two next week on BBC1 at 7pm.

Well I'm only going on personal experience & when Angela missed part one of the Sontaran story she wasn't keen to watch part two & as a casual viewer not in any hurry to find it else where. It's the 'casual' viewers I'm thinking of.

Your casual viewer these days owns a VCR/DVD recorder/Freeview (delete as applicable).

That's true. But being a 'casual' viewer they also find no need to record something they don't give a fig about missing.

Joe Public clearly don't like to watch Moffat episodes:

    1 …. 13.1 (55.1%) …. Britain's Got Talent - The Final Result (21:30) ITV
    2 …. 11.0 (51.1%) …. Britain's Got Talent - the Final (18:45) ITV
    3 …. 6.9 (31.0%) …. I'd Do Anything Results (20:45) BBC1
    4 …. 6.1 (28.0%) …. An Audience with Neil Diamond (20:30) ITV
    5 …. 5.4 (25.4%) …. Doctor Who (19:00) BBC1
    Casualty only managed 3.7million!

    WORSHIP COWELL FOR ETERNITY!

ETA: Still not too bad. Only 100,000 lower than Santa's Festive Pit overnight.

dissapointing but probably to be expected Doctor Who, has ruled the roost for the last 4 years simply because itv, have never been able or willing to either find or put one of their popular shows up against it like it or not BGT is hugely popular and because it was a live show it was always going to givre any thing the BBC put on a beating.

I'm really disappointed with that. I knew Doctor Who would suffer but for such an outstanding episode to get such a poor figure... the media will have a field day. What a shame.

Well it was the first day for over a week that the sun was out here. There will probably a massive timeshift too.

don't see why it should BGT, has been getting huge viewing figures since this series started and because it was a live show there will be a fare few people who watched BGT and recorded Doctor Who.

ITV1's coverage could still pull in 5-6million next week... especially opposite a Moffat Episode 2. DOOOOOOOOOMED!!!

I think 'Silence In The Library' leaves Doctor Who sitting 26th for the week,or something?
