It's just one of those things isn't it - caught up in a major TV "event" that culminated that week. I do find it interesting that millions more saw Part 2 than Part 1- which shows that people don't seem to be daunted by tuning in to the second half of a story. This certainly seemed to be the case last Saturday, when everyone I spoke to seemed to have seen (and been intrigued) by "Forest of Fear". None of them seemed to even notice the fact that they hadn't watched the first part.

Well, I don't think that much actually happened in the first half. It was more about atmosphere.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

well the viewing figures for Forest of the Dead, certainly seems confirm that and that the previous weeks low figurs were just a blip.
it also pretty much shoots down in flames those few people over on O.G who were coming out with the usual crap blaming RTD and saying it was the comedy slant of Unicorn and the Wasp why people had stopped watcvhing.

Ratings are up again!
Unofficial figures show that episode ten of Series Four, Midnight, was watched by 7.3 million viewers, giving it a 37.8% share of the total television audience.
The programme was once more the most watched of Saturday, beating the second placed Casualty by 1.5 million viewers.
ITV1's highest rated programme of the day was Euro 2008 with 3.8 million.
In a week when ratings were down across the board, Doctor Who actually increased its audience over the previous week.
As a measure of how well the programme has performed, it is currently the 5th most watched of the week, ahead of editions of Coronation Street and EastEnders. Final figures will be released by BARB in ten days time.

My pants have exploded!

7.0million/35.1% for 'Turn Left' last night.
Narrowly beaten by Holland v Russia's 7.2m/33.8%. Damn that pre-7pm start and Extra Time.
Should be yet another Top Ten placing... with only The Royal and Italy v Spain likely to make it tonight.
Who fans are really spoilt these days. Some folk are actually disappointed with last night's figures.

It's funny I thought we were going to get massive figures for last night too, but 7.4 is a good rating and will probably rise a little with the timeshifts and everything. It should eb a good lead in for next week if nothing else... I think with word of mouth about the cliffhanger and stuff we might do very well next week.
