Well, as I said, it's the AI figures they tend to look at rather than the ratings, and they have been consistently high. Secondly it was the highest rated show on the BBC that night, so it's obviously not doing too badly really, and thirdly, the show has got specials already pencilled in for next year, with more than likely a series to follow after that, so we're in NO big danger of being cancelled. Yes they've dipped, but the show has hit these levels before (at the end of the Eccleston series) and it's still come back. Let us not forget that when the weather was bad at the start of the series, the show was pulling in 9m+ viewers, in the SAME timeslot. I don't think you can blame the timeslot for the low figures- we've had scholl holidays where loads of people have been away and two hot, sunny saturdays that people have been making the most of. With the way the show is scheduled with two more repeats a week plaus the BBC I-Player,and the DVD/ Video recorder, people are actually less likely than ever to be in watching it when it's first broadcast.

it's bad enough when they keep chopping and changing the start time but Looking at the tv listings for saturday this weeks episode will be on at 6.45pm yet there was no mention of the time change at the end of The Poison Sky.

And.... breathe out!
Unofficial figures show that episode six of Series Four, The Doctor's Daughter, was watched by 6.6 million viewers, giving it a 38.4% share of the total television audience.
While most programmes have been getting lower figures than the previous week, Doctor Who has increased its audience to bring it back over the 6 million mark.
The top rated programme was still ITV1's Britain's Got Talent although its audience was down by a million at 7.5 million. Doctor Who was the highest rated programme on BBC1 for the day and had the biggest share of any programme on Saturday.

Next weeks episode is at 7-Oclock, there should be a better audience figure again. What's happening the week after that though on the 24th? It's Eurovision, is the episode to be postponed this year as it was last?

After Sunday's overnights, Doctor Who is still sitting in 11th place - only 200,000 behind The Apprentice. Could/should be back in the Top Ten once the final figures are released next week. Another AI figure of 88 as well.
Seems to be only the fans who don't like Doctor Who these days!

From OG:
Unofficial figures show that episode seven of Series Four, The Unicorn and the Wasp, was watched by 7.7 million viewers, giving it a 36.1% share of the total television audience.
The programme was helped by a later start and wet weather across much of the United Kingdom and achieved an increase of over a million on last weeks figures..
The top rated programme was still ITV1's Britain's Got Talent with 8.6 million. Doctor Who was the highest rated programme on BBC1 for the day, beating Casualty by 1.3 million..
The programme is currently the 8th most watched of the week, almost guaranteeing a final Top ten place. Final figures will be released by BARB in ten days time.

It's still only a few hundred fans who hate it.
