Fair enough, i can see the reasoning behind that.

I still think there should be a special section for "The Golden Era"

I agree, Ralph, and I did indeed campaign for a separate "Season 17" board, but to no avail.

Looking at how the boards are currently used, there hasn't so far been much of a demand for threads debating detailed aspects of the current series anyway (apart from the catch-all threads about each story, of which there are only 13 started a year) as people prefer to let some time go by before evaluating them: most of the content on the New Series board is about rumours, spoilers and gossip. So nothing will really have to change, neither will it be terribly neccesary to move such threads to the new Adventures In Time And Space forum either.

What this 're-branding' does is simply to clarify the current observed use of the two forums; it lets people know that, contrary to the old titling system, discussion of post-2005 series topics does not have to be started seperate to discussion on the pre-1990 series, and it also lets them know that all spoilers and discussion on the current or upcoming episodes can be avoided if required as it's centred in one forum.

So we have just rebranded, according to how the forums are generally used. It also seems silly to now call episodes made four years again "New Series", when that title would more aptly suit the current run of episodes being made.

I've got to agree with the Mods here.

Having a board called "The New Series" for discussion of episodes 3 or 4 years ago is a bit unusual. And add in the fact that we're a welcoming bunch of people - you don't (necessarily) want to put the barrier of entry too high.

I don't think we need to be too strict about it. Personally, I wouldn't move a thread about Rose out from either forum.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I'm not frightened of it, but I prefer bank notes.

I thought this post would be more appropriate on this thread.

I'd just like to say that I'd like to vote in favour of keeping the new colour scheme. It's a lot easier on the eyes than the previous one.

Ditto. I think it looks miles better!
Although i'll just mention that on some other forums the individual members have the option of choosing whichever skin they prefer. I don't know if that's possible here, but it would eliminate the neccesity of having to choose one or the other for the whole forum.

I don't like the black at all. It makes everything dark and gloomy.

I'm not that keen either. Its ok for a one off but I'm finding it hard to tell which threads have new posts and which don't.

As I said on the banner thread, we'll be having a vote in a couple of weeks (once the New Series is over), you'll all get your chance to have your say.

I take it this is not an option here then?

Ah right. Like that is it. Oh well, maybe once we get on decent server come October....

Anyway, i do like the black, but if some people feel they can't get on with, then i'm happy to stick to white one at the end of the day.

I was just thinking of the people that have issues with the visibility thing. I personally think it looks great, but it's only cosmetic when all's said & done.

Well I do find the white actually hurts my eyes, it's a bit bright.
