My mom said it was on SciFi, that it was good, so I watched it. It was the episode "Dalek" and I didn't understand it. Partially because I didn't know about Time Lords and the TARDIS, so I was wondering why this weird guy with two hearts was going around the universe in a police box.

I can remember bits of Revelation of the Daleks in 1985 but nothing clear until Trial of a Timelord.

Awh thankyou for the welcome. And yes, though I think all the Doctors have marked milestones for me.

I know what you mean, when I turned 18 Billy Hartnell took me drinking. He bought me a Guinness.

    that's quite funny!

did I mention that I also watched that thing in 2003, The Story of Doctor Who?

I learnt a lot that night.

That documentary was a nice gesture, but it did gloss over certain points, like the McGann TV movie for starters... tut tut. The best documentary we've had IMO is "30 Years In The TARDIS" and I hope we get something just as good come 2013.

I think they did that because they wanted to focus on Doctor Who's life as a television series, not any spin-off media.

You say that like it's a bad thing!

I agree though, (More than) 30yrs in the Tardis is the best docu so far.

    The Eighth Doctor's no spin-off!

Never said it wasn't a spin-off. It's just not very good.

when I say "Spin-off", I mean as in anything other than the series. That Documentary also glossed over the BF audio dramas, novels, comic strips, short story anthologies, and all the other stuff that tied in with the series but wasn't on the television.

Another explanation was possibly that at that time, Fox still held the rights to the movie, and the BBC didn't want to encroach upon their territory.

    There's no answer to that!

First definite memory is Pat and Jon meeting in the Three Doctors, and wondering how these two could be the same person. I was only two-and-a-half, and didn't know about regeneration.
