I've always really liked it. I like the concept of the regeneration crisis (which was only done to death after this), I loved the exploration of the TARDIS as a kid, and I love the Escher citadel. I know that it's not the most exciting story ever, but there's just something about the gentle pace and atmosphere that appeals to me. There's also the sense of a new team getting a chance to know each other after being thrown together under unusual circumstances. I think it's worth taking the time to have a slower pace to get this done.

And Davison is absolutely splendid from the get-go. I really like the way the story eases his Doctor in, with his gradually finding himself.

But yes i do prefer 'Time-Flight'. I can't honestly say i'm a big fan of it, & would never hold it up as a brilliant example of Dr Who, but at least i feel like something's actually happening when i've watched it.
Btw... I'm not sure if you meant 'Terminus', as that's the one that i quoted & defended, but i actually do honestly enjoy it. It's got brilliantly dark atmosphere, which is the antithesis of the light hearted tone that i tend to dislike in Dr Who.

No, no, I quite like Terminus - it does seem to peeter out a bit too soon, and even after all these years I've no idea what the Garm does, or whether Terminus actually works, but it's quite watchable, and as you say, does have a very grim and powerful atmosphere to it. Mad Bors by the giant engines, and the whole of the first episode in particular, and that first cliffhanger... Maybe I'm just a sucker for shots of Janet Fielding's ass crawling through vents, I don't know...

But Timeflight really does strike me as one of the worst stories ever, so I really was curious to know whether you prefer that to Castrovalva.
