I just had ANOTHER crazy thought.
I was just watching Survival, and it got me thinking...
at the end of part one, the Master is in that tent, right?
what if...IT'S HIS TARDIS?!?

Actually, it's not that crazy. It at least explains how he got from the planet of the Cheetah People to wherever the Daleks were trying him at the start of the TVM. If the Doctor was transported home and ended up at his TARDIS at the end of Survival, why shouldn't the same logic apply to the Master?

Ever read The Eight Doctors?

I thought the Master was stranded there and needed the Doctor to help him escape?!?!?!?!
I can't see how he could be stranded if he can just hop in his tent and disappear!!!
I haven't watched it for a while though.......

Of course The Eight Doctors is canonical.
It takes place directly after the movie. I'm talking like, two seconds after.

Yes, but some people don't think the movie is canon either.

Yes it was a Co-production.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

there's been so much other stuff made since the movie that ties in with it, and uses reference points from it, that if the movie weren't canon, the entire Doctor Who universe would collapse.

People are very fussy about what's canonical. Some people do't like the TVM so don't count it- for various reasons like it was made in Canada and all that. Some people don't count the books or BF audios because there's simply too much stuff that contradicts what each range presents as the future history, or indeed too many stories to keep track of.
Personally I would count the Prime Computer Ads as canon, but I'm sure no-one else would. Best thing is to work out yourself what you think counts and just ignore what everyone else thinks. It's a whole lot easier than arguing about it!

I say everything is canon. Apart from the adverts.
I say this is canon as well:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QknSJVZoY78

well, this has been a very interesting debate, but can we now get back to the whole Master-TARDIS-tent thing?

Not yet, I haven't had my say.
I think you have to draw a 'canon' line with the TV series, simply because for something to "count" you have to be able to keep track of it. My fan fiction story "Doctor Who and the Revenge of the Rani" can't count, because no-one else knows about it. But then, if that doesn't count, why should the annuals count, as they were written by nobodies in the same medium. You have to draw the line somewhere, and so it's logical to restrict it to the same medium as the TV show, and restrict it to anything BBC sanctioned. Which, just about, leaves only the TV series and TV Movie as canon.

I believe we should bow to the wisdom of Bob the Builder, when he said "metal, brick or wood, it's all good". A depth of meaning there I think.

Getting back on topic, I know Anthony Ainley was said to have given a camp performance as The Master, but does that really mean he had to have a tent for a TARDIS?
